Etien Velikonja

His career pre Cardiff doesn't look too shabby, we paid £1,000,000 for him and we don't use him, he's played twice in fact, hardly had a chance to prove himself. Got a hat trick in a development game a bit ago.

Why cant he have more of a chance? Is he a dud as Nathan Blake said must be the case? Or has Malky got big plans for him?

I think the cup game will tell us. The entire first team is apparently going to be rested, if Velikonja can't get on the field then, I'm pretty sure this will be Malky's first flop.

It's an odd one mind; he was banging them for his last club and has continued to do so at dev level. Obviously they're a lower level, but you'd think he'd at least earn himself 20 minutes every other week. Gestede was a slow starter but he was given plenty of chances.

I can't help but think it's an attitude problem. Obviosuly I'm not slating him as this is pure guess work, but to not make the bench week in week out - with a big money price tag and scoring regular goals in the reserves - makes me wonder...

Fair enough, I do hope I'm wrong and in that case I probably am. I've heard plenty of good things about him and you can't help but wonder why he hasn't got a few more minutes. Perhaps it's a language thing? That might explain why Malky doesn't want to play him too much as well as why he's a bit shy. Of course, it could just be that he's just not ready yet...

I really hope he plays a blinder against macclesfield, scores a double hatrick and gives malky a real headache.

He may have had only 2 games but we gotta remember MM sees him newrly everyday in training and if he doesn't think he is ready it would be silly putting him on the bench.

Maybe he is just finding it hard to settle. We will see what he has got on Saturday and tbh I think the lad will shine!

Ramsey played his 1st game for us in the FA Cup 3rd round against Chasetown and he proved how good he was. Hopefully this is Velikonja's chance to shine in a similar game.

£2m and he doesn't even make the bench. Very odd.
