Malky has been after Sordell for a while and i remember he bid for him last January for Cardiff but he chose Bolton instead.Woud'nt be suprised if Malky brought him in.

He isnt playing for Bolton at all.

We are mean't to be signing a striker that will show our intentions for going up. To me Sordell does not fit that criteria.

Charlie Austin would be my ideal signing. He rips the Championship apart, and would no doubt work his socks off in the Premier League.

Charlie Austin was overshadowed by Jay Rodriguez for Burnley the past few seasons. Southampton chose to sign Rodriguez ahead of Austin and Rodriguez is struggling to get games for Southampton. So despite Austin finding the net a lot this season, will he still sustain this form for the second half of the season and is he really good enough for us and worth spending millions on? Just saying!

If we were to sign Sordell I would trust Malky's judgement, however, whenever I've watched Sordell I have never really been impressed. He had a decent game against us a couple of years ago I seem to remember but other than that I struggle to see why he's highly rated. He was particularly poor during the Olympics.

Perhaps Malky would be able to get the best from him, I personally though would pass though.

I remember how many people slagged tommy smith off before we signed him, malky knows sordell from Watford so is in a far better position to judge him than any of us, if he's good enough for malky then he's good enough for me bear in mind he's still a kid.

All I have actually said in that post is that I don't think Austin is worth spending millions on as he was overshadowed by Rodriguez for Burnley the past few seasons. Surely my post wasn't that difficult to understand?

Couldn't agree more.
Why we're supposedly looking at a non prolific goalscorer with a Twitter habit, who can't even get into a poor performing Bolton team?
He'll just sit on the bench.

Dougie Freedman was a striker and I take his opinion on what he sees.

Also everything things 3 million, got told yesterday that Freedman and chairman had a meeting over signings and if Sordell was to go then 5 million or more they want.

even though we are top of the league , lots of teams in this division have quality strikers in depth keeping sordell out of the squad,
thats one thing we dont have.

sordell would most likely get games down here

£5 million. That's good news, can't see us paying that for him.

A bit strange mind considering he ent playing a lot and they are willing to put off a few clubs though.

No wonder Bolton are struggling if they got a 5m striker getting no game time

Eh?
Austin only had one full season with Rodriguez at Burnley, last season, and scored mpre league goals than him
Just cos Nigel Adkins signed him, prob as a partner to Lambert who is similair to Austin, or as a winger as he can also play out there, does not mean Charlie Austin isnt good enough for us or the PL ffs

Thats straight out of the Pembroke Alien school of logic

I was at Bolton today where I was photographing their game against Millwall.

Now when I covered the Olympics I was not overly impressed with Sordell and sure enough today he didn't make the first 11. But with 20 minutes to go he came on and what a blistering turn of pace he has. He runs at defenders he's fast and he knows where the goal is and was unlucky not to score.

I've changed my mind about him!
