I know we'd all like to think it is because of our love for the game but with the amount of money within the game I don't know how it really can be 100% clean.
Opinions people.

its far too difficult to fix a result of a football match, even for referees.

but there have been many cases of it happening in the past. As I say with so much money involved it cant be 100% clean.
Remember it wasn't long ago when you had the floodlight failure issue in the UK because Asian firms paid out on whatever the score was when the floodlights when down!!! The Bruce Grobbelaar issue, Everton last game against Wimbledon that season was always questionable, then there are many examples in other countries.

I don't think the results of matches are fixed. But some of the things you can bet on during the game are defiantly fixed.

You just have to watch the game at home with Reading a few seasons ago. We were going to lose that game before it started as the FA, police and every one else did not want a Swansea Cardiff playoff final.

I cringe when people say this, why did they have United/City at Wembley? Plenty of hatred between those clubs too. One day Swansea will play Cardiff at Wembley.
As for the question at hand, I believe in this country it's clean. Most clubs/chairmen/managers/players can't afford to lose a game intentionally despite what they are offered to fix the game.

Match fixing is certainly an issue lower down the Leagues. Premier League and Championship games, and players for that matter, are covered by far too much media attention to ever get away with it. More importantly, why would they need to? With salaries in the millions there is simply no need to risk ruining a career.
Here is an extract from a recent 'Player Poll' published today:
A staggering 14 percent of the players polled agreed that match-fixing is still an issue in football, with one League Two defender saying: "It goes on, I'm telling you. I've had players call me and tell me to bet on the outcome of a match, especially at the end of a season in League Two or the Conference. I've never been approached myself, but I know it goes on."
Another defender currently plying his trade in League Two claims he and his team-mates had been told to throw a match during a previous spell with a non-league side.
It would be extremely naive to deny its existence. However, it is limited to lower divisions for obvious reasons.
