THOMAS EISFELD

Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:02 pm

Noticed one or two posts on Twitter linking Arsenal youngster Thomas Eisfeld with a loan move to Cardiff City today, so I got in touch with a mate in London to find out if he's heard anything.

Apparently Eisfeld is likely to go out on loan sometime this month, but a club is yet to be mentioned.

For those unaware of the lad, Eisfeld is an attacking midfielder - signed from Borussia Dortmund - who played against Reading in the League Cup last month. Many Arsenal fans actually expect him to jump ahead of Ramsey in the first squad next season.

Not sure how likely a move would be considering we have a fair amount of midfield players already, but thought it's worth a mention. Has anyone else heard anything?

I cant see it. Malky will want proven players to add to the squad right now.
What would loaning a kid achieve?

Agreed - if Malky wanted a young loan star, surely he would have given Frei more time on the pitch during his spell?

Reading also linked with Eisfeld.

I remember the Arsenal fans raving about JET too.

They may be right about this player being good but I think we are overflowing in mid-field. ;)

the kid seems talented, but i dont think its really what we are looking for.. surely a striker is our first priority? then if we can improve in other areas so be it...

but there is no doubt we must strengthen !

I do think a top striker and left back should be priority, but bringing in another midfielder wouldn't be a bad move whatsoever.

Eisfeld wouldn't jump straight into the first team, anyway, so I can't see it happening.
