Nathan Blake: Some fans are waiting for the bad run of form and over the last month we have been nothing more than solid. Marshall has been fantastic and everything is going for us.
If you are a player, you know you will not be playing at your best every single game. Cardiff are not in a bad run but their football is not as beautiful as it was. But nobody behind them looks like going on a run.

Steve Tucker: If somebody needs to be rested there are people of equal quality to cover the absences. Last season players were tired but this year Malky has options.

Nathan Blake: Malky has been a manager for 4 years. He has learned that by this stage of the season, teams don't need to train as hard because of the busy schedule.
Also with the recent poor weather, pitches will be heavier and Malky will know that.

Steve Tucker: This one could well go to the wire again. I remember the Sordell deal last year was nearly done while they were playing at Southampton. It's more difficult in January because clubs don't want their players to leave as much.

Nathan Blake: For me, get your business done early. Do it this first week and focus on football for the rest of the month.

Steve Tucker: We should have the squad good enough to go there anyway. There are a few players who need a break. We think that Tommy Smith might come back on Saturday.

Nathan Blake: Different people have different opinions but as a player you want to win every single game you play in. If you don't want to win at Macclesfeld and end up losing, the momentum could shift. There is no such thing as a distraction in the dressing room. A game is a game and your focus is to win every game that comes next.
