don't know whether it has already been discussed?
but with maynards injury what sort of insurance policy would be in place?
lost transfer fee?
wages?
just popped into my head and really curious about it now.

Wont be transfer fee.... a % of wages would be paid

Insurance only comes into it if the player has to retire.

Football transfers are extremley complex.
One of the reasons is because of a players "Asset Value", which can of course devalue through loss of form and injury. (This is also another reason why Football accounts are difficult to read)
I would have thought there are two insurance policies taken out on Maynard.
One to cover wages through injury or retirement through injury.( similar to a person who takes out sickness illness cover)
The other may involve West Ham. They must have taken out somthing as its unlikley they have received £2.5 Million up front from Cardiff.
Loss of form, well there is nothing you can do about that.
