Didnt think of that tbh me, i know hes got a good pass on him and can run abit from what i remember

I'd also say we have enough midfielders, but it couldn't do any harm to have a prem quality player in the squad. And another Welshman!

With Mutch struggling this would be a good signing

not sure what id think of Vaughan here tbh he frustrates the hell out of me as a player hes got the potential to be a top player never think hes fully filled his potential

i think a centre midfielder is def what we need, in the last couple of games, mutch has not been up to the job, we have been second to every ball and in my opinion looked a little light weight through the middle..

we have lots of wingers, but not really a strong selection down the middle, unless mutch can up his game rate by 100%

We need someone to close games down , and not waste passes , with plenty of energy , and protect the back four , to take passes of our centre.half's etc . So why not David Vaughan . To help us see out games till the end of the season ?

i dont think we have closed games out, we were bombarded by leicester, millwall and brum in the last 10 mins or so and only some good goalkeeping and quality defending gave us the win. we were not in control of the games in the final stages..

To be honest I haven't felt uncomfortable towards the end of any of the four games we played over Xmas. I think we controlled the ball fairly well and closed them out without too much fuss.

I think he'd be a decent signing. Can play wide or in the middle both as an attacking midfielder and a defensive minded midfielder. Worth signing to add depth alone. If it's a cheap loan anyway.

Got to agree, I've been saying for years we need a quality central midfield player, Vaughn is a good player, and with good players around him would do a good job for us, and could free up Whittingh to play a more forward role, from where he could get us more goals.

Interesting that people think he is moving with Vaughan coming here may be part of the deal? I said last January he would go but in fairness no one offered what the club thought he was worth and in all fairness every player has a price, I'm sure if Sunderland have offered around £6m and Vaughan the other way on loan then it may be silly not to do business, whitts is. Good player but £6m is good Business in my eyes, suppose we'll find out next few weeks

Vaughan is a better passer, but is slower, slightly better tackler but not much.
