PETER Whittingham will miss Cardiff City's Championship match at Birnmingham City today because of injury.
Playmaker Whittingham suffered a knee injury during the home win against Millwall on saturday and is likely to be out for between two and four weeks.
Whittingham has been an ever-present force for the Bluebirds this season and his creative skills will be sorely missed through the middle.
He is out of the Birmingham match and is set to miss the home match against Ipswich Town on Saturday week, after which the injury will then be assessed again.
The Bluebirds have an FA Cup tie at Macclesfield Town this Saturday but Whittingham was not due to be involved anyway.
Whittingham's absence means goalkeeper David Marshall is now the only ever-present player for Cardiff this season.

not good, not good at all, however if there is a time to get injured its now, he is missing a cup tue and if we win will be missing another cup tie, perhaps only two league matches

Whitts took a heavy knock against Millwall when he layed the ball off to Noone which led to Gestedes goal. He carried on so its probably nothing too serious, just requires rest.

He won't be out that long surely,
Tue Jan 01, 2013 6:10 pm
Maybe time to see if Arsenal will loan us Ramsey again ?

Malky: Whitts took a hefty knock v Lions, was nearly there yesterday, but it wasn't to be. He could certainly be back in time for Ipswich.. Good news!

Best time for it to happen

We need to have an alternative to him anyway, as we can't rely too much on one player.
I think I'm right in saying he played in every game last season, in addition to every game this season - that is incredibly lucky - he was probably due a spell injured anyway.

You don't have to attend every game to be a fan.

No you misunderstand Barry the point Mario is making is that Browny boy here doesnt miss the odd game because of work and stuff like that, he doesnt go to games full stop. He doesnt go to games because hes not a fan never has been.
