Malky has now signed about twenty players all told.
Who is the biggest flop?
A tough one this, because pretty much every player he has signed has done well
I'd say...
Shit, nobody really. Im not a fan of Rudy but he's not exactly flopped as such
Velikonja? only time will tell but I suspect there's a reason he's still out in the
cold

Rudy.

Signed on a free transfer, scored the winner Saturday, a last minute equaliser against Huddersfield last season.... Hardly a flop! If we'd spent any £££'s on him your point would be slightly more credible.
The obvious ones at this point are either Etien or Kadeem Harris

Velinkonja, can't spend that amount of money and not even be good enough for the bench.

Tempted to agree. But until/if he gets sent out on loan then im holding back.
£2m or whatever it was... im hoping Malky's judgement isnt that bad

agree that for now at least, velinkonja.
his success rate with transfers so far (he's operated on a different level of financial backing to jones though) is about as good as it gets, and you trust him to keep finding the right players for the right prices.
long may it continue into 2013

Vuckic
Mon Dec 31, 2012 8:39 pm
At their age none of them should be flopping !
Mon Dec 31, 2012 8:53 pm
Velinkonja. Clearly Malky thinks he's not up to standard and made a mistake on that one.

I don't see the need for the anti DJ stuff but I would point out our best three players this season, Marshall, Hudson and Witts all came from DJ.
Time will show MM worst signings, at the moment we look at Etien but that may change.

You can't exactly call Etien a flop. If he actually had the opportunities, I think he would do well. Hopefully he plays in the FA cup.

Kenny Miller.
Waste of money. Dj made no signings as bad as him.

I'm hopeful he'll come good as for the development side and pre season he did/does well. At this moment in time though to spend what he did you'd expect him to be in the first team or bench at least. That's why I'd say he's a flop right now.

Rudy already mentioned.
Mutch, Kim, Harris and Velonijka. Spent over 6 mil on that little lot and theyve not contributed at all for one reason or another.
Jones got slated for wasting 300k on Taiwo ffs

Kenny Miller was guff, Cowie, Taylor, even Turner this season are not setting the world alight.
Then theres the weird loan signings of Vuckic, Frei and Lappin which were not really used.
Gunar, Noone, Mason and Conolly have been his best signings but in Noone and Conollys case we had cash to burn.
Just like to put it out there 3/4 best players in team are Jones signings - Whitts, Marshall, Hudson.
Then there was Roger Johnson, Glenn Loovens, Chris Burke, Jay Bothroyd, Michael Chopra, Ross Mcormack, the old Kev Mcnaughton to name a few decent signings Jones made for a fraction of what Malky spent on players he dont even use
Bellamy signed for both.

Kenny Miller

What a fantastic thread to make you realise what a fantastic Job Malky has done maybe no flops so far Velinkonja is the only player worth a reasonable fee not to feature but it's still early days and he may end up being a star....
Well done Malky

the only poor one for me is Gestede.
I know he got the winner on Saturday, but even the beast scored for us when he was here, and that was an awful signing as well (that one by Jones though).

Miller was definitely needed at the time, remember at the start of last season Malky had to rebuild the squad ground up at a very low price but he still got good players, to call miller a bad signing is unfair in the circumstances

For now he is, he has time.
I hate it when people say he hasn't been given a chance when MM sees him every day in training.

Mutch and Kim? Really? Mutch has got to be one of the best signings fro what I've seen of him, just has an injury problem, Kim is a great player but for some bizarre reason played on the wing in a couple of games when he's clearly an CM or even a CAM. Harris I really want to see him play as with etien.
