I think it's because we've outgrown the championship. After several years of being near the top, and a couple of cup finals its not as exciting anymore.

We've failed at the last hurdle so much in recent times, i for one wont let myself get too excited cos it might just destroy me if it all goes wrong.

Agree with the above comments , the outgrowing of the championship is probably right though , the atmosphere that year was amazing and that game v brum ranks up amongst the best i went to at ninian park love to transfer that atmosphere to the ccs the place would sound amazing , maybe the fans need to come back to reality a bit and start falling in love with the match days again ! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The difference is that we're not at Ninian Park anymore.

Not at all, it''s down to the fans.

Last couple of seasons at Ninian were rubbish!

The stadium structure does make a huge different, the low roofs at Ninian made it so much louder which made more people join in! I agree with the other posts though that we're outgrowing the Championship and it's becoming less exciting when we've seen everything besides promotion.

IF we do go up we'll be tipped for relegation and be underdogs in pretty much all games. Then I think the atmosphere will increase ten fold. We're just bored of this league - never thought I'd think that.

  Probably the most truthful point made on this subject
Walking through the dodgy portakabins behind the bob bank to get a pint without bending the floor too much walking on it as to not wobble the tables with drinks on them or make the walls fall off the sides again was a good half time adventure aswell

Perhaps experiencing a relegation battle in the Premier League (not saying we would, but it's an obvious possibility) would bring back the hunger in some fans?

Either way, I'll be there...

I tend to agree with previous posters. We've been spoilt over the last few years and expect to win most matches now. When we don't, it's like the end of the world! A season of bottom half of the Premier League avoiding relegation could do us the world of good, in my opinion.
