Peter Whittingham

Don't get where this criticism is coming from. He's our best player by an absolute mile and i reckon probably best midfielder in the championship. People saying he's not going in for 50/50 balls.... ever thought why he doesnt get injured? Top class player

we'll have to tell the rest of the team to pull out of 50/50's then. we won't get any injuries

Do you ever see David Silva going for 50/50 balls? I don't that's not his job he leaves that to Barry and players of the sort.

He massively put his body on the line to put the ball out wide to no one for the Rudy goal against millwall.

He does his job he puts in his far share of defending especially with set pieces people just slate him because he isn't a gunnar or mutch well its not his job. just like Rudy, he isn't going to be prolific in the championship but he has a job and he does it.

Our best player. Good enough for England in my honest opinion! He is a top 8 Premier league player. Best player outside the Premier league and he is up there with RVP as the best dead ball specialist in the country.

Playing just in front of the back four you are expected to put crunching tackles in. Whitts ain't that sort of player. We have been shaky at the back and that's part of the problem IMO.
Whitts is a flair player a creative player who can creative a piece of magic from nothing. He should be used as an attacking central midfielder who can unlock teams. Not the likes of Cowie or Mutch . Gunnerson can do the job but not as good as Whitts.
This is just my opinion. Your Welcome !!

Shaky at the back? Have you not seen how many clean sheets we've kept at home this season?

Whitts is still creating, I understand your logic he's playing in a defensive midfield role but Malky see's him as the playmaker just wants him to come deeper for the ball exactly like he did when he played the pass to noone for the goal against millwall. He's been awesome he's doing the job Malky has set him to do.

He is a pale shadow of what he once was..............Mackay needs to rest him now,and get a quality midfield player signed up in this transfer window......to quote my old friend,Del boy..."you know it makes sense"

He needs a rest as he's out of form. Played some quality passes against millwall but then faded out of the game completely second half. With the fa cup coming up will be a great time to rest him and other players. Let him get back into the form he had at the start of the season

so someone like cowie is a better option even when pete's off form?

Should we try Kim in his position against Macclesfield to see if he could fill in if Whitts gets injured , if not who else do we think can play his position , Smith? ?

Wonder how much more we would get out of him if we played 4-2-3-1 with Gunnarsson and Mutch in holding roles and Noone/ Conway Whitts and Bellamy in the 3 ?

Kim could do it

Not yet. He can't communicate well enough with his team mates!

Some people clearly don't understand that goals = quality performances. Just because he is scoring less does not mean he's having any less of an impact on games. He's fine. Just a bit tired that's all.
