Birmingham tomorrow

Going up tomorrow by train, looking for places to have a few beers before the game, any suggestions, good pubs to go too ?

I am travelling by train. Apparently the police recommend drinking in the city centre - there are a few good pubs on Bennetts hill which is about 5 mins from New Street Station.

I would not drink too near the ground unless you are in good numbers.This is still a very dodgy place to go and many of their fans can not be trusted not to pick you off, even if you are not dressed for the occassion. Drink in city centre and get a cab in.

Any going up by coach or car and stopping off somewhere?
