Can We Afford To Lose EIGHT More Games?

Sun Dec 30, 2012 10:49 pm

Lost 6 so far and are past the halfway stage. If we have a poor 2013, HOW poor can we afford?

With 21 games left could we afford to lose 8, draw 4 and win 9. This would give us 84 pts.

I know this sounds a tad defeatist but we've had a good 25 games so can afford a lull, but how much of a lull. Middlesboro would still need 11 wins, 5 draws and 5 loses to get 85 pts.

Would 9 wins be enough, even if it would be a sweat?

We need to win every game, theres no point putting a question on a few defeats. We need to secure and got the job down :ayatollah:

Wayne i,m not too much into stats as they can be deceiving but in terms of points I think 87 will do it however we achieve it

still a long way to go . 3 points at brum would start the new year nicely :ayatollah:

I think exactly the same mozzer, 87 pts, which is why I was asking about 84 pts. That seems to be the tipping point 10 wins and few draws does it, but 9 wins and a few draws is sweaty palms time.

For me we need 12 more wins or the equivalent. I don't think 84 points will secure top 2.

It's looking like I've found my tipping point. 12 wins will definitely do it, 11 should do it, 10 may do it, but 9 is chancing it. I can now tick them off, let's get to 10 wins as soon as possible then enjoy the rest. :ayatollah:

10 at home and 11 away. :ayatollah:

I such a pessimist that I've be waiting for it to go wrong for about the last 20 games

I hope we get 4 wins really quickly as once we are in single figures for wins required it will suddenly seem within touching distance

9 wins would put us on 80 points , teams have gone up with that, but I reckon its going to take more than 80points this season to go up.

9 wins plus 4 draws I was anticipating. So 84 pts.

Out of 21 games I would say 15 wins is very possible. Which would leave us on 98. But I don't expect us to win that many, 13 would be more realistic, leaving us on 92, plus a few draws to take us to around 94/95 points. So I'd expect us to total anywhere between 89 and 95 points, which is title winning form :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It's not that easy when you've waited nearly 40 years and it always seems to be a step too far. Anyway it's better that arguing about who's going over a fence first or paying for a governors trip. :D

I'd love your relaxed way of looking at it. :ayatollah: i cant let it just play out and to prove my point I just stuck results in the BBC Predictor and being pessimistic came out with 10 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses. That's 87 pts.

Isn't that amazing, I'm NOT RELAXED because I was there and it's been a long time in coming.

Remember those ST's. Plastic floppy cover with perforated tickets inside and a few extras in the back, usually one each for the first rounds of the cups. With 3 or 4 leftover that ended up being used for the Welsh Cup

I would say if we get around 88/90 we will be ok for Auto
