Why we need a prolific goalscorer

We need a profilic goalscorer so we will be able to finish games off .Very often you o age 20 years just hoping the whistle goes We need to kill games off more easily than we doObviously in general the squad is there but ubfortunately we DO NEED somebody like Maynard now

Everyone is now coming around to thinking that. The emphasise is now on a striker and not the defence.

Now who could that be in January?

I still think Mason is up to it. Other than 10 minutes against Palace, has he even played since his cracking goal at Blackburn?

I don't have a preference, but simply believe a new striker and defender is needed in order to complete this team.

Good post, we do need a prolific striker like you say to really kill teams off..
I know we are top and top scorers in the league and people like taffyapple on here say we don't need a striker because of that but the fact is a lot of our wins we have just been scrapping over the line and a lot of them wins could have easily been draws, if we had a top striker we would really finish teams off and this would make sure we got promoted.
The money is there (apparantly) lets go for it

Hope I'm wrong but I've got a feeling with smith coming back and with us wanting to keep lappin milky may go with what we got and if things go tits up towards the end of January then he may go for a loan signing, but we need someone with a bit of pace up front cos my opinion if Maynard had played the first half of the season we would have at least 5 more points on the board

Personally i dont think its a prolific striker we need but a striker who is able to play up top alone. I really believe than kenny miller would have been excellent in this team cos he was brilliant at taking defenders out of holes and opening up space for others.
I'd love to see someone like danny graham here cos he can play up top alone and bring others into the game. I'd also love it cos it would give us the opportunity to play 4-5-1 with kimbo in the hole.

If Malky thought we did'nt need a striker, why did he sign Maynard. He could have run with what he had, but he obviously felt we needed (and still need) a goal poacher.
