Southampton last season - 25 Games - 47 Points
QPR season before - 25 Games - 48 Points
Even all dominant Newcastle only had 52 Points after 25 Games.
Ipswich the only other team to fail to get promoted from the same position we are now had 49 points, but, perhaps more importantly only a 2 point gap between them and third place and a 10 point gap between them and 7th place. We have a 6 point gap between third and 16 points between us and 7th (suggesting a far bigger 'quality' gap).
Speaking of those gaps. At this time Southampton had a 2 point gap with 3rd, Newcastle a 5 point gap, QPR a 5 point gap.
Of course it's never 100% but things are looking very, very good.
