' THREE PLAY-OFF RIVALS '

Sat Dec 29, 2012 8:24 pm

Well I don't think they are play off rivals of ours as we are going automatic :D :ayatollah:

In the last 7 days we played 3 sides all of whom have aspirations of at least a place each in the play offs and we took the full 9 points, who seriously believed, not just hoped, that we would take maximum points over these three games?

I hoped for 7 points but thought we would probably take 5 points but fair play to Malky's team, even the performances were not first class they sure as hell worked very hard to get the result in each of the games and even kept 2 clean sheets.

Absolutely delighted with the points haul over Christmas, now I want 3 points against Brum on Tuesday :D :ayatollah:

I thought we would draw with Leicester, 3 points now on tuesday putting us in a great position going into the FA Cup break, ready to do the double over Ipshit on the 12th then ;)

The blues are going up! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I thought six points from the last three games tops but to get nine well what more could we ask for if we get three at brum on tuesday i will be a real believer on promotion, although we seem to go downhill when jan hits most seasons but not this season we will have the squad for the push i think. :ayatollah:

Don't rule out the hornets! Not sure we can overhaul you but I think we are certainly gunning for automatic places at the moment.

Hopefully one or two new faces early on in the upcoming transfer window can give us another boost.

We need a goalscorer, I know we have goals all over the park but we would be far more comfortable if we had a player high up in the top scorers list, along with the likes of Rhodes, Becchio and Austin.

I would have been happy with 9 points from 5 games. 12 points = Over the Moon

I somehow still feel a little disappointed with the Peterborough result

If we'd won that I think we would have been the first team in the league to win 5 in a row this season.
Seff Wed.
Blackburn
Peterborough
Leicester
Palace

With Millwall that would have made it 6 in a row, and if that doesn't send out a message I don't know what doesn't :ayatollah:

It's been an incredible run. Now the real hard work begins though but we've got a steel and winning mentality I haven't seen at the club before. Everyone of the squad deserve credit but its an obvious thing to say but Craig Bellamy has been a true leader of men the last month or so and considering it wasn't long ago that the rumours of his personal life/niggling injuries were badly affecting his performances but since then he's playing like a man possessed and his 150% work rate from the front is an obvious inspiration to the rest of the squad who aren't as experienced as he is

It's amazing we've got daylight between us and third place at this stage, and with Tommy Smith back soon, whilst we have the opportunity for the first time ever to properly strengthen in a January window then we'll never get a better chance to win the league. Some people are still complaining about us not winning 4-0 everyweek with a swagger, but they're the clueless or on a wind up. Malky deserves full credit for obtaining this squad and instilling a never say die attitude

One game at a time now - Malkys favourite cliche no doubt

COME ON CITY

Its either win or lose with us.

We only managed two draws in 25 games.

The gap between the top 12 is starting to stretch.

There was a real buzz in the air at the ft whistle I think people are starting to get excited.

Was great seeing the corner if the ninian / canton full today and although the atmosphere was poor overall the chant just before full time of "Were Cardiff City. Were top of the league" was spine tingling.

I hope everyone enjoys it, i got a funny feeling if we do get promoted it will be a case of "the chase being better than the prize"

Agreed there it wont take too many (inevitable) defeats in the premiership before the crowd start getting at the lads.

I know this might sound weird but the quest to reach the Premiership has been so long and arduous that if we finally do it then it will feel like the conclusion of a saga for me personally and anything that happens after is just a bonus. Ever since I started going down as a boy the end game has been promotion to the Premiership. I think I might get anti-climactic depression if we go up!

Would have taken a point from leicester, thought palace would nick a point and expected 3 against Millwall, to get all 9 is brill,a point at Brum on Tuesday would be good but more than capable of getting all 3. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
