"FREEDOM OF SPEEECH" - HE SAID

Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:49 pm

"AND IT'S A DEMOCRACY"

Peter Ridsdales words today, when asked, by his staff, about the "MR RIDDLER" TShirts.

Gareth Davies, Media Manager at CCS and Wayne Nash, Stadium Manager at CCS both rang me today regarding an incident that took place in the Family Stand at half time on Sunday.

Gareth Davies said ' He was gobsmacked and had spoken to the chairman and that PR has'nt got a problem with the T Shirts'.

Wayne Nash said ' I have spoken with Peter and that he may not like whats on the T Shirt but says it's freedom of Speech and it's a democracy '.

SO YOU CAN WHERE YOUR T-SHIRTS AND THEY ARE NOT BANNED FROM THE STADIUM.

Also Wayne said to me that he spoke with TG on Sunday and TG was ' delighted and impressed with the Malaysian Flags' :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

There was a guy with a Yorkshire accent who looked just like your pic walking behind me down Sloper Road on Sunday after the game, towards the bridge.

I was trying to keep a rein on 3 kids, but thought that maybe it was you ?

The fella was with a lady with long dark hair I think.

When I was going through the turn style at the Waford game, a head steward was making a young fan take his "Riddler out" t-shirt off. I asked on what grounds he was objecting to the t-shirt. He said that they had no problem with the front of the t-shirt, but the back read "Previous convictions" Leeds & Barnsley etc, and therefore, as PR had never officially been convicted it was libellous. I said in that case it would be the wearer that was liable and not the club, if in the unlikely event PR decided to sue.

He agreed but asked the kid not to wear it anyway "just to be sure".
