Another clean sheet at home!

Sat Dec 29, 2012 5:17 pm

This has been the difference this season. The CCS has been a fortress this season and Peterborough aside, we have looked very difficult to score against. Millwall had their chances today and our left side was constantly exposed in the second half, but Malky resolved this by putting Cowie on. As soon as Cowie came on, I don't think we looked like conceding and we finished the game very well, keeping the ball, not playing any silly passes and taking the safe option of going back to Marshall whenever necessary. Henderson caused us a few problems and Marshall made some great saves in the first half to keep us in the game. But overall, it was a thoroughly professional performance and everyone deserves huge credit for getting 9 points out of 9 over the Christmas period.

Not a coincidence that Hudson was suspended that day against Peterborough either.

Of course, Hudson has been absolutely superb this season. Turner and Connolly made so many rash decisions against Peterborough and I believe that was because Hudson wasn't there talking to them, organising them and calming them down.

It takes time to build up a centre half partnership and now City are seeing the benefits.

It does, but to be fair it doesn't seem to matter whether Hudson is partnering Turner or Connolly, we look organised. But the one game Hudson didn't play this season, we looked defensively all over the place. I was one of Hudson's biggest critics during his first few seasons. He has turned things around, proved his doubters wrong and he's won me over so far this season.

First few seasons? Including 2010/11?

Yes, I personally thought Hudson was not the answer under Dave Jones, I felt he was always capable of making the odd glaring mistake to cost us. But since Malky has arrived, Hudson has cut out the silly mistakes he previously made under Jones, is consistantly performing well and is a leader on the pitch.
