NCFC in Peace

Fri Dec 28, 2012 1:06 pm

Hello Lads,
NCFC in peace here.
Just to say, good to see positive comments about us on here wishing us luck.

I know a lot of our lot can't stand you and I know it's the same back from some of you lot too.

But even though I was involved throughout the 80's with the going's on between us, and enjoyed our regular 'Cardiff day trips to Jothams'! I personally (and more than you think others) would like to see you do well, as long as it's not against us. Even though we had a proper rivalry back then, it was based a bit on respect.

As for turn out, I am sure if we ever meet in the cups again then it would be big for both sides, have no doubt if it's a proper game all the old eads and more would be out from us and it would be a battle royal.
TBH we never gave a f**k for any of your non cardiff living support (valley herberts to us) but it was the proper from Cardiff we wanted/respected, especially the Docks and Ely etc.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, hopefully we will be back in the league next year and get you in one of the cups!

Those days are gone lad. But back when it was still happening. We used to cut through Newport
like a knife through butter and you know it. To be fair, you were always gamer than the jacks

The close proximity of Cardiff and newport makes it a proper derby. More of a derby than Cardiff vs jacks. if you Start climbing up the leagues, then the rivalry will re'ignite, Goodluck for now.

Muppet, look into Cardiff city and its history and you'll notice the 'valley Herbert's' are a big part of the club and if it wasn't for the support from the valleys and nearby towns then Cardiff wouldn't be the club it was today. Some people need to look into their family trees and I bet that nearly half have family which originated from the 'valleys' or nearby.

He'd have to make sure he was up to date on his vaccinations first. Tetanus and Rabies are still rife up there by all accounts.

There's a football team from Newport?

Re: NCFC in Peace

Fri Dec 28, 2012 4:03 pm

County to me has never beena derby just because I'm young enough that we've never faced you properly while I was a fan, although I know it would be huge if were ever in the same league as you.

Newport was a proper derby game once and in the 80's there was a lot of rivalry between us and Newport,I can promise you that.

That has got to be the most pathetic thing I've seen on a football message board - a Swansea fan keeping a cutting of a Cardiff fan getting a kicking off another team. Done your city proud there.

Re: NCFC in Peace

Newport is about 9 miles away and i've only ever been there 3 times, and that was to watch the city, and two of them times i nearly got done over.

Got to laugh haven't you, some people actually believe that type of chat...they know the score deep down, like you say wouldnt last 10 mins

it said. he got done. by a dozen rival fans?

Re: NCFC in Peace

Newport is a tough little ghetto, make no mistake Lol some right dodgy looking kunts up there! Fukin needles hanging out of there arms and everything. I will say though... Within 5years newport will become wales second city and swansea will get relegated to 3rd spot. As the o.p says.. They got good road links to london ect, and got the bonus of being nabours of Cardiff. Swansea may aswell be on the moon

Remember going to Somerton Park in the 80s. Some decent games. Can't say I remember feeling threatened, though. We were always the majority. Be good to see Newport and Wrexham back in the league.

Shame I said something which some took offence at.
Not getting involved in a slanging match, or we done em, we done you debate.
Those who were about like forever BLue will tell you it used to be a proper derby, like I said for me based on respect, hopefully we can meet again when we finally get back in the league!!
Again, good luck for the rest of the season.

A rivalry that carried on when football was not being played, often tripped to ringland on a summers night.
We hated each other, a lot more than the swansea derby.

To be fair I loved the rivalry between us and Newport however someone from Zooport slagging of the valleys is a bloody cheek. Newport is a bigger shit-tip than most valley towns, in fact it's like a large run-down valley town with more drugs and more chavs.

if u reside in newport you cant have a pop at anyone for living in a slum thats for sure. that place is properly messed up and might aswell not exist. That aside, they did have a very game mob, albeit small compared to ccfc. They took some right pastings unlike the jacks who were famously scared of cardiff's main crew. It gt properly personal i heard too, slashings, mobs of 100 maybe more turning up in the centres on random saturdays....mental times they were, bit like in Milan.

Something that's bugged me this season with Newport, no reason, just interested to why Rodney parade is reduced to a 5500 capacity from 11000 for football games?

Good luck forte season, hope you end up back in the football league :ayatollah:
