BORIS JOHNSON AND HIS NEW FOOTBALL CLUB

Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:20 am

With Sullivan and Gold at West Ham having had their pants taken down by Boris over
the move to the Olympic Stadium, can ANYONE have any doubts that the porn kings
were only ever after a quick sale once West Ham move in?

I feel gutted for genuine West Ham fans, a Club with a rich history, that they have been
sold down the river in order that Gold and Sullivan can sweep up all the profits from the
redevelopment of the Boleyn Ground.

They are NOT putting the money up to restructure the Olympic Stadium, instead they have
signed up with Newham Council and f**k me has Boris got a good deal out of it. Newham
Council will cover the cost of much of the redevelopment of the O.S, such as work on the
roof and the temporary seating to bring fans a little bit closer to the pitch (as it will
always remain an Athletics Stadium)... But for chipping in, Boris gets:

£9m a year ground rent (forever)
A percentage of the merchandising profits
The right to stage Athletic events there as per Seb Coes instructions (profits go to Newham council)
A percentage of the profits of any sell-on of the Club (Sullivan and Gold were livid)

I understand the idea to be that with a state-of-the-art 60,000 seater stadium, West Ham can attract
new rich investors. But outline Planning Permission had been given for them to redevelop the old East
Stand at U.P. That would have taken the attendance up to 45,000. Big enough for the Hammers? Of
course it would have been, but Gold and Sullivan wanted that old ground sold ;)

So... West Ham move to another area of London, Stratford is NOT West Ham, so it seems silly they keep
their name. Perhaps moves are already afoot to incorporate 'Stratford' in there somewhere. But more
galling for the fans is that a hundred years of tradition and history, the old drinking haunts, the match day
traditions, the historic (and still bloody good) Ground have all been trashed in the chase for a rich Arab,
Malaysian, Chinaman to come in and buy the Club. They trusted the Porn Kings.

They have been sold out.

Tan has come here and fucked us about with this ghastly rebrand.

But a new owner at West Ham, once they move into the Olympic Stadium, will be able to do what the
f**k he likes. Because "West Ham United" will have already had its history wiped clean.

Worst of all, that thick blond Public Schoolboy will be pulling the strings no matter WHO buys the Club
eventually.

Sad. My mate lives just off Green Street. He says the West Ham fans are very very worried about this
and particularly the lack of consultation between them and the owners who have signed off on a £9m
a year rental deal for the next 99 years. That will automatically put new investors off. As my mates
friend told him. The new ground may as well be called 'The White Elephant' ground... cos it could kill
West Ham. Still... Sullivan and Gold will have made a killing, same as they did at Birmingham.

Somebody said once that it was no different than Man City. But it is.

they are MANCHESTER City, and their fans come from all over the City.

AND the ground has had a permanent conversion to rid it of its Athletics
track. West Ham can do no such thing

Leyton is another area of London, only a couple of miles, but anyone who
has ever lived in London knows the score. The new ground is actually closer
to Arsenal/Spurs territory than West Ham. Given that they had permission to
upgrade Upton Park to 45,000 seats. This is a bigger sell-out than Cardiff
wearing red shirts. I mean that. We may very well get our Blue back in the
next couple of years, we drink, socialise in the same pubs as before, we only
have to leave the pubs one minute earlier.

West Ham? well if they want to visit their old stomping grounds to reminisce...

All they will find is "Gold Towers" or "Sullivan Heights"

The idea they will suddenly find 60,000 fans to fill it as well? Ridiculous.

I am gutted for proper West Ham fans

Everton don't play in Everton, West Ham actually play in East Ham and so on. I know the point you are trying to make and its a very good one Taffy but calling Boris Johnson 'thick' is complete nonsense really. Yes he plays the fool very well but he is a very intelligent guy.

Now as alot of our taxes gone into making the stadium then I want the best return and if West Ham is the best return then so be it. For Londoners who paid far more for the games through their council tax then I would expect them to feel the same and as Boris Johnson is representing the people of London then he's only doing his job.

Does anyone know what the deal was Espanyol and the Barcalona Olympic Stadium..?

Re: BORIS JOHNSON AND HIS NEW FOOTBALL CLUB

I can see what your trying to do there Taffy. :D

Moving a club across boroughs in London is just like moving any other club from town to town, it's quite appalling but we know what Sullivan is like and most owners are in it for the column inches and cash return. He may be annoyed by the deal but he will make a mint.

I believe they will fill the ground though, the area has become a gift to the whole of the city of London so many new football fans will see it as a new club fit for their support. Only the die hard Hammers fans will be offended but its only a couple of tube stops in London.

Evertons ground is in Everton Valley. West Hams ground right now is more East than West Ham but
still that area. Stratford is not.

The whole con hinges on West Ham getting a foreign buyer AGAIN. Because without huge
investment, how on Earth will they ever challenge the top sides in London, and if they
cant do that.... 60,000?? your having a 'bubble'

And if they cant fill their new Athletics ground.....

My God that bowl is going to look eerily empty week in week out

Newham Council to get shares of Sullivan and Golds big sell off - fact
Not allowed to put permanent seating in because the Athletic track stays - fact

The irony here has got me in stitches. All the above has been in the press and media, Johnson has even
been on telly talking about it - But I'm bullshitting about 'someone elses Club'

  Yeh righto Daya Mk III

I dislike West Ham fans coming on here trying to stir shit about my Club because they
are bitter and twisted. It pisses me off that he can chuck unsubstantiated bollocks in
as though he "knows stuff"....

then when the boot is on the other foot (except I KNOW im not wrong about HIS Club) he spits
his dummy out.

So if he dont like it...

he can neck another bottle of whisky and ban himself again (or come back as you?)

Is he being abusive again ? no surprise there at all. Welsh Nationalist mentality at its best , although possibly it stops him burning down holiday homes the more times hes playing on here.

Taffy Duck was totally proven wrong, read through all his former posts of last season , then read his reactions to the rebrand to which he said would never happen, it's better than any book. You will see hes now taken his Welsh Nationalist claims out of his profile. Hmmmm. Strange that. Ask the old fool why ? You wouldn't think a Welsh Nationalist would work abroad or even more have a Malaysian owner of his football club      poor bloke don't know if hes coming or going , old Tannie really stumped him fair play !!!

personally i love Vincent Tan.... hes made this message board the best on the web , beats any soap opera !!

Well done Vinnie .... go on son, remove the bluebird from the badge , you know you want to , go on give Taffy Duck another body blow !!!
