Hark Now Hear The Cardiff Sing...................

Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:47 pm

Always Nice to hear this sung, even though a lot of newbies looked puzzled. 3 regulars almost had tears in their eyes like old veterans when it was sung. Can a medal be struck for those that were there that new years day?

Agreed but the only thing that was deafening about our crowd until we equalised was the silence. Sadly it seems gone are the days when a response to the away fans singing "This is a library" would be a resounding " And it's Cardiff City....." I've said it before but it's up to the fans to create an atmosphere. God knows what Malky really thinks when he was used to the passion of the Celtic fans' singing.

We haven't sung that song properly in ages, it was very loud. :ayatollah:

I dont think there is one really? We sing the same song. But it stems from the 79/80 Derby at the Vetch, which is what I would call the first league meeting between the clubs during the hooligan era. Cant say I remember anything dramatic happening though? ;)

Not one ounce of this song has
Any truth in it its sung up and down
The country and has been for many years
By most teams boxing day/New years day
Was always a derby day so a song was invented.
Especially made up by you lot --not once in 30 odd years up against you lot have you had the
Upper hand but i have seen you run many a time and that was at cardiff many times.

im 55 now and have never ever seen you even put up a decent scrap aginst us let alone have the upper hand. the song refers too the game at your place new years day 1980 where we over ran the vetch.
one of our lads went on the pitch and pretended to shag your swan mascot and not one of you moved.
when we played wrexham in the welsh cup final at your place you were nowhere to be seen. when you played palace in the fa cup at our place you were virtually run out of the ground.
i suppose you had the upper hand in canton as well ?

Well, you say swans were nowhere to be seen when you played wrexham, but cardiff where nowhere to be seen in 2006 when 30000 jacks took over cardiff for the auto glass final, and nowhere to be seen when 35000 jacks took over cardiff for the div 1 playoff final.

I couldn't give a s*it who had a better mob, but your making out that swans fans are some how scared of cardiff fans, i have never gone to a game to cause trouble, but i do admit i have been caught up in trouble. But you said that swansea were nowhere to be seen when you played wrexham, in the welsh cup even more of a joke than the autoglass cup, and i pointed out that you had a great chance to take on the jacks in 2006, and belive me they were ready for you big time, by all accounts you were hiding down in canton
