Defeat v Charlton made our season

Thu Dec 27, 2012 10:36 am

2-0 up only to lose 5-4. I remember the players getting stick from all directions and rightly so although a lot of what was said was OTT. Since then the team has gone on a fantastic run with Peterborough being the only real bad performance.

Our defence since Charlton has galvanised and the back 4 and Marshall have upped their game considerably. I for one criticised Marshall and said Heaton should never have been released.

Having seen Ccfc this season both in the flesh and on the box I firmly believe that we as a club are going places. Bring on 2013-the year of the red bluebird

I criticised the team then like most, even questioned Malky. Looking back at that game we basically froze for 30 minutes, 10 minutes before halftime and 20 minutes after the restart. Those 30 minutes cost us 5 goals and disintegrated our goal difference. Frightening half hour that turned out to be.

We game back in that game and nearly snatched a point. Now that is the difference. Each game we have lost we have fought for a score. 3 nill down against Forest we got a goal back and were unluck not to get another, Tommy Smith hitting the post in a spell where we dominated the last 20 minutes. The Bolton game we were denied a draw by some bad refereeing decision where in the last minutes where we dominated for a good period we were denied the most obvious penalty of the season. The only defeat at home we missed to many clear cut chances after going 2 down yet we gave ourselves a chance with a last minute goal. Against the Wurzels we got back to 3-2 and were commited to getting a draw but unlike against Peterborough we were caught out and gave another goal away. Palace is the unigue game out of all the loses where once we went behind we did not look like scoring to come away with anything. Adding to all this we have come back from games to win with one or two last minute winners.

Yep that is what is making our season, we are fighting till the end.

Under DJ we only came back from behind on rare occasions. Malky has a plan b. Yesterdays plan b was Gunnarrson who sat in front of back 4 and enabled us to gain possession. That meant we could start playing balls behind their defence and exploit the pace of conway, bellers and noone

We have not lost at home with Hudson in the team. The man just turns us into God mode.

Did not want to bring up DJ but what the heck. Under Jones when it was good we were easily premiership stuff. However when we struggled we were bad very bad. Under Malky who in my opinion has a less quality squad we have not at the moment played sublime stuff as Jones got us playing. However we have got been as bad either. Under Jones we went through matches of crap where under Malky if we are playing bad within the same game he turns it around. Sometimes it has been to litle to late but the difference is there. Yep call it the plan B.

Malky has a plan c as well. Doesnt always work but dj focussed on having good first 11 with little strength in depth. MM could play 2 teams with our current squad and therein lies the difference.
