Laugh in level 4 today - are some of these people real ?

Wed Dec 26, 2012 11:35 pm

One guy sat behind my wife said to her that I was a 'hooligan - and my kids were embarrassed'.

They weren't, my son travels everywhere with me and my kids love me for who I am, and his mate was scrambling an apology after my wife told me what he had siad (not that I gave a monkeys). I just sung songs and called for decisions for us, not 1 swearword, threat or even any abuse of anyone. It was just passion and pride. My daughters were singing 'you're not singing anymore before the canton or Ninian  '.

On the other hand the guy in front of me, shook my hand at the end of the game saying I'd made his day and he loved the passion. :ayatollah:

Best game for years, and 2 brilliant result in 1 week.

Its a lovely spot to watch the game from, but I'll be much more at home back in the Ninian stand on Saturday. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think they were old guys Annis,my wife was a row behind me, so they were 2 back. I didn't take much notice, I thought it was a joke.

My in-laws who aren't big footy fans and are from Birmingham were there as well, they thought it was hilarious. They absolutely loved it today.

I sit up there..you get the odd look for showing a bit of passion, but I find it's infectious, even had noone's mrs on her feet singing top of the league at one point.

Tim, Age makes no difference the new fan we have is not so young like people think a lot of them are middle aged and old.

There will be a lot more like them when we are in the premiership with a 36,000 stadium. Loud singers will be a very small minority unfortunately

To be honest when I was in there I found it a 'nice change'. You pay extra for comfort and the other extras but if you want to act like you are on the terraces then that area clearly isn't for you.

What the guy said to your wife may well have been 'out of order' but surely you should have looked more into what is or isn't acceptable to others in the area.

If I remember correctly didn't you ask on here the other day what the acceptable clothing in the area..? Well if you were so concerned about that then maybe you should have asked what the other customers are like in there too.?

very harsh.

All he was doing was showing passion for his team in a very important match - and in a way that shouldn't have caused anyone any offence.

I always go bonkers at the match, I show so much passion it's unreal. Hate loosing always want to win but when I give the referee stick or spur on the players everyone looks behind and stares at me

It may sound harsh and I understand why you say that but its not as through its only just opened. People have known about the area ever since the stadium was built. Whilst I understand why people don't like the area but its there for a reason (to make the club more money) so surely if you are going into the area for whatever reason you should respect what the area represents.

One meaning of the word 'hooligan' is somebody with disruptive behaviour so even through its a harsh word to use techinically he was right.

I think you've got me mixed up. I've never asked advise on dress code or behaviour.

I've been in there several times before and I'm always the same, and quite comfortable with the dress code in there. I've got several mates up there too who are happy to see me in there.

Its not my problem its his and not a big deal to me as I think its funny that someone should think that cheering, singing and shouting at the ref is acting like a hooligan. There is NO place in a football ground where passionately supporting your team is not acceptable.

By the way I don't consider what he said as 'out of order' it would be his opinion after all, just laughable.

I do apologise that it wasn't you asking about the dress code. Which if you have been in the area before then you should know better.

Please see my explanation of the word hooligan above as techinally he was right what he was saying.

'I should know better'.

You are having a laugh now surely.

I've got as much right to cheer my team on as he has to sit on his hands or drink his tea.

He's also within his rights to moan to my wife and we (my wife kids and myself) are to laugh at his stupid comments. As I said, his mate tried to cover for him (saying he was only joking - and he may well have been) and another fan told me I'd made his day with my support for the side. Something I'm very proud of. :ayatollah:

In my experience many fans don't have the energy to get behind the team like I do, but a lot of these like to sit near those who do - it was the same when we were in the old 'B' Block, some of the quieter fans in there wanted to move to the Nin Stand to sit near us after we moved grounds because they liked the fact that me and my mates created an atmosphere.

if he thought that you were disruptive then technically he can use the word 'hooligan' even through its not the best word to use in the situation.

Maybe the club should clear all issues like this this by clearly stating what is acceptable in certain areas.

if I still would be a regular, I would prob move to level 4 too. fantastic views from up there and our atmosphere slowly died after we left Ninian. Passion went down too, so better just enjoy your day of football up there... will most prob try it next time I'm over
