...for standing up at a football match.
If he was consistently blocking someone's view then fair enough, but if not then this is ridiculous.

Disgraceful.

you're not meant to stand, he would have been told numerous times to sit before being suspended.
there are the facts.

If there's no one behind you sitting down then you should be allowed to stand up. They say it's for "safety reasons", but I don't know how they can say it's dangerous to stand up watching football. And before anyone says it, Hillsborough's irrelevant.

Wed Dec 26, 2012 11:25 pm
That is shocking, I hope he/she takes it further. Has a very good arguement.

It is over the top but as someone saide he was probably warned numerous times. And they dont have a standing section. Its not fair on others that cant/dont want to stand up all game.

true, i have been in the bit next to the away fans and as i was 18 at the time, the stewards kept coming over to me and my mates to sit when everyone around us was standing up, i pointed out that i wouldnt be able to see the match if i sat down but the thickos didnt seem to be able to process that
i prefer to sit, but if there is an accord that you can all stand i dont see the problem, but remember that you are all, for the time being at least, breaking the rules.

I'm sure the muppets on this forum who complain about people standing have never actually felt what its like to get up and really get behind the bluebirds. You can't show any emotions whilst sat down like an arrogant lazy wanker.

Too right.

They have a singing/standing section, he/she should have went there instead. I'm sorry but people have to abide by the rules nowadays. (I stand in the Canton before you say anything)

We don't know the reasons why this Sunderland fan is banned, but if he wasn't in the way of anyone's view then it shouldn't be a problem. I've been singing/standing in the Ninian Stand for 3 years now and I haven't been banned.

disagree here. no mass protests when our club got its crest and colours taken away from.
all you need to do is, tell the people it is necessary to sit down, otherwise we wont have investement and we wont play premier league next season...

lucky seats...

A few years ago when we played coventry, they wanted everyone to sit down in the north east stand at the liberty, it almost kicked off big time. They have not made another attempt, if you go to that part of the liberty, and want to sit down, you will not see the game end of.
