'A PLAYER TO WATCH' - WE ARE APPARENTLY LOOKING AT

Wed Dec 26, 2012 7:22 pm

Nahki Wells, plays for Bradford and is a Bermudan international, according to Bradford fans today they claim that Cardiff City have expressed an interest in him.

Wells, 22 years old, has scored 15 goals this season in the league and cups and as made 4 appearances for his national team.

He signed for Bradford after having a trial once Carlisle released him 18 months ago.

Bradford fans rate him highly and don't want to lose him but if City are looking at him then the kid must have talent, I have no problem getting players from lower leagues as Joe Mason's signing proves.

He was excellent against Arsenal. Caused their defence a lot of problems. Bags of pace. definitely worth a look.

Malky looks at players for now, but he also is always on the look out for players for the future, Malky always looks to the future. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

What's with the angry face mate?! Surely you are happy that we have a manager who is catering for the future of the club not just the immediate!!!! :?

I like the sound of bringing in young players, just showing how far we going.

Kiss? He hasn't featured enough to give an opinion but most can say there is some talent there.

You can't really exclude etien the fact we haven't seen him must mean he is not good enough and therefore a flop another flop rudy even gets prefered to him also so far for the money spent on him mutch looks a bit of a flop hopefully that will change though, we also bought kadeem harris the fact he never makes the bench must make him a bit of a flop.
malkay still doing a great job though when your top of the league a few flops doesn't matter.

A flop is a player who cost loads and fails to perform to the standards required.

Malky is happy to spend money on the 'future' and take the criticism for not playing them as quickly as the fans want, something Jones either could not do or was not allowed to do. Jones made some significant signings but he was not really very good at buying players for the future... Look at the squad we were left with when he left - quite frankly it was disgraceful. I think fans need to accept a new era of spending money on players who may not come good for a year or two.

I think that's a little unfair and a legacy of the Jones era - expecting ALL players to be able to deliver immediately or they are deemed 'flops' and in the Jones era that was probably true, there is a long list of 'punts' which were disastrous. Malky is more thorough than that and perhaps Etien and Harris are taking a little longer to be ready for first team football but Malky is a long-term thinker whereas Jones took punts one season at a time. Listen to Malky talk about players and you realise he is very committed to the players development and wants them to have long careers so his approach is totally different to Jones.

Look at how long some of the United players have to wait for their chance. I trust Malky that these players will be good enough but the trick is will they sit and wait for their chance?

I know it has absolutely no relevance but I've signed this player on my fifa 13 career.. What a buy! :ugeek:

We all know Malky's reasons for not using Etien yet - Malky wants him to be 100% ready, and why rush him when we are doing so well? Kiss and Harris are both still young and Malky has said theey are players for the future... he will never keep a player around if he doesn't think they have a part to play, remember how quick he got rid of Earnie this season and Parkin last season, as well as Gerrard etc.

Did somebody post that Mutch was a flop

Our 'fans' eh

The lad was looking excellent before his injury, but since he's come
back he's not hit form, just a few games he's had, and not been great, end of.
But against Leicester he was looking pretty solid in there with Whitts

I think Mutch is gone right back to be honest. he dont do much at all ,but give the ball away

I agree he was pretty poor on Saturday. But as I say, injuries have stopped him
getting a run of games together. Plus an unlucky suspension when he did come
back. Seems Gunnarsson will definitely start tomorrow, hopefully it will spur
Jordon on and he will come back stronger. Cos i think he can be a special player

Apart from the odd game / glimpse I think Mutch has heen dissapointing.

Hasnt showed anything to suggest he could make the step up.

Not sure. Peterborough took a punt on Gayle and look at him. I think we are primed
and ready for a 'box' player to come in and score a bagful. We'll go up with or without
one but could win this league by 10/15 points if we get the right player in that hole.

..and a full back!!

Peterborough are not on the verge of the PL and have to take punts on lower league.

If looking for a box player we are in a financial position to be looking at the likes of Billy Sharp, Simeon Jackson, or if we are really serious then Charlie Austin. All proven at this level.

Haven't heard about him before but Malky went for Mason and it worked out well so if we do end up signing him then we can only hope he turns out to be a good signing also.

Fairly decent record both overall and Bradford returning on average a goal every two games at that level?
Didn't realise initially he's almost 23 so not really one for the future, really should be ready for it now rather than years down the line!
