My view from Asia

Thu Nov 26, 2009 1:18 am

If this goes ahead with a full takeover at some stage it can only be good for the club. This guy is pretty smart and he has some very savvy business partners if he can get them involved. You also have to see the potential in Asia, Singapore, Malayisa, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand - all football mad. When the bombs went off in Jakarta earlier this year and Man U pulled out of playing there they plated a second game in Kuala Lumpur and another 70,000+ turned up. If we can tap into that market and the Malaysians have their own "premeirship" club it can only be good for us

Keep the faith

Sorry about the post bit childish really but it does go to show how difficult it is when new owners come to a club. For every ethiad theres a visit malaysia. Under our model we will never be a champions league club but we wont suffer at the whim of a madman either.

Manu have won the PL 20 Times, European cup etc. Let's be realistic here manu could draw 70,000 in alot of countries there's no comparison.
The only way we're guna have even a fraction of that success is if we win the PL.

Man Utd have a worldwide fan base of 350 million supporters, i.e those supporters who identify with a football club, they officially sell 1.5 million shirts a year. They are on a different planet

What absolute twaddle and the type of self indulgent delusion that sees you go weak at the knees when any owner stokes that ego.

Its like Hull saying, Real Madrid are massive in Spain so if we can tap into that market and get a share we will be quids in.

Pie in the sky nonsense. Not sure how many times I have had to say it on this board but..... Wake up
