You cant really compare Speed and Colemans managerial career. Sheff was Speeds first ever job, Coleman has done poorly at a number of clubs.

Well?

I have no idea. Time will tell.

Colemans start to his tenure hasnt been vastly different from speeds start. And Coleman has a far more successful managerial cv than speed.

As i said, how can you compare both when Speed had 1 job before Wales, yet Coleman has had many and has never done any good. Can you honestly see us improving like we did under Speed?

Thanks for the attention, always a privilege

This opinion that Coleman has failed in his past jobs has only appeared in the last few weeks...

Fulham
Coleman joined Fulham's coaching staff in October 2002 under Tigana. He later succeeded the Frenchman as caretaker manager in April 2003, and steered Fulham away from relegation danger. He was named as Fulham's permanent manager in May 2003, beating the more experienced Klaus Toppmöller and George Burley to the post, and also became the youngest manager in the Premier League.[4]
His first full season in charge saw Fulham finish a surprise ninth place, as many pundits tipped them to struggle and for Coleman to be sacked.[5] Many of Fulham's key players, such as Edwin van der Sar, Louis Saha, Steed Malbranque and Luis Boa Morte, were sold in the following years and Fulham did not repeat their earlier successes under Coleman though he kept them clear of relegation. He was sacked in April 2007, after Fulham went on a seven game winless run.[6]

Real Sociedad

Coleman moved abroad to manage recently relegated Segunda División side Real Sociedad in June 2007, after being recommended to the club by fellow Welshman and former Real Sociedad manager John Toshack.[7] He was linked with Bolton Wanderers in October 2007[8] though nothing came of it. With the club in 5th place and having only lost once in its previous eleven games, Coleman resigned as manager on 16 January 2008, citing a divergence in vision for the club with newly elected President Iñaki Badiola.[9]

[edit]Coventry City

Coleman was appointed manager of Championship side Coventry City on 19 February 2008, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract. He replaced Iain Dowie, who had been sacked by new owner Ray Ranson.[10]
On 26 August 2008, the BBC reported that Coleman was no longer interested in the international success of Wales.[11] He later denied the allegation, however, telling BBC Radio Wales' Sportstime programme, "I've got to get him [Eastwood] fit for Coventry first and foremost, that's my job. When he is fit, I'd drive him down the motorway myself if I had to for him to play for Wales. I've played for Wales myself and I preferred playing for my country than any club I've played for. I can promise you that I love Wales, I'm very patriotic and that will never change."[12] On 4 May 2010, Coleman was sacked following Coventry's 19th place finish during the 2009–10 season,[13] their lowest league finish in more than 45 years. I accept this move was a failure

[edit]Larissa

In May 2011, Coleman was appointed as manager of Greek side Larissa.[14] In January 2012, Coleman announced that because of financial troubles at the club he would be quitting from his position as manager.[15]
During His time In Greece, Coleman only lost 1 game out of 12, only conceding 3 goals and scoring 16. Due to financial and corruption difficulties the season didnt start until late 2011. During pre-season they played 20 games. winning 14, drawing 4 and losing 2. He was adored by the fans, and there were many planned riots and protests when he left citing financial difficulties as the reasons, (having not been paid for 3 months along with many of the players). In the immediate 12 games after Coleman left, Larissa lost 9 out of 12 games, drawing 2 and winning only 1.

Nope, but to ignore them is foolish.

I am staggered you are genuinelly saying Allen is poor defensively. You haven't even backed up your reasons, apart from "my mates told me"

Come on now. Let the grown ups talk.

It seems you have made up the fact he's failed everywhere he's been when in fact he was a succes at 3 out of the 4 spells he's had prior to Wales.

I have never said otherwise, I just gave an opinion on what I was told about allen by friends who watch the jacks. Its you who has defended him to the bone like any jack would. I just don't believe he is a 15 million pound player and deep down you know it too, but you won't admit it because you are too proud to agree with any opinion apart from your own

My opinion is that he's a good premier league midfielder suited to a top 10 team. I have seen him play against us a few times. He scored against us at ninian park, Noticed jordi Gomez more though than him, was young back then though. Last time we played though, he got bullied by olafinjana and didn't have the best of games from what I remember. For Wales? He's done alright, keeps it simple that's all I can really say. What's your opinion of him?

I think he's our second best midfielder behind bale.

Keeps possession well and breaks up opponents play and has an excellent range of passing with a very high completion rate. Key to liverpools system and will be a big player for them for many many years to come. I've never seen him have a bad game, even the one you mentioned which was won by a Craig Bellamy piece of brilliance.

The game was won by pressing Swansea all over the pitch that game, they couldn't handle olifinjana that game at all, too physical for them. Could have been 2-0 when a bit of brilliance by your favourite player darcy Blake had hit the inside of the post and gone in. True though about bellamy, quality strike.

Agreed. Swansea were never in that game.

I don't think you could ever say Allen had a bad game though, they were just overrun.

You told me on the other thread you trust them so formed the opinion based on that... Now you are backtracking a little..

So which one is it Ely?

I said it was the opinion of my friends who regularly watch the Jacks that the defensive sid of his game isnt his strongest. Not my opinion as I don't watch him in detail really. You are just twisting words like you do best. I also said that I base my opinion on seeing no reading a stat on the Internet

Yep so what's your opinion then? This is a thread for opinions after all. I assume you have seen him play considering he has played a number of times against us (and scored) not to mention for team gb and Wales...

Don't doubt he's a different player now but last time I saw joe Allen play against us was when bellers scored the winner at the liberty and he was made to look like a little boy by olifinjana (however its spelt) and Ramsey :ayatollah:

So you now think he's good defensively then?

I didn't mention his defensive capabilities at all. Why don't you open your own forum so you can reply to your own posts, since you twist everything to what you want it to read anyway?

You said he got made to look like a mug by oli. What else could you have meant apart from his defensive skills?

You then went on t say you have no doubt he has changed. So I asked you to clarify.

Not difficult.[/quote]

If you needed clarification then all you need do is ask, not make up what you want a post to read. It's not difficult.
Aliens role is to keep the team ticking, get the ball and give it to those better equipped to create. I don't see his role as being defensive but then all players have duties in this respect. Look at Bellamy on Tuesday (sorry you're not a Cardiff fan so you won't know, but Bellamy defended from the front).
Don't study the jacks (yes i know hes now left) like you though

My opinion is that he's a good premier league midfielder suited to a top 10 team. I have seen him play against us a few times. He scored against us at ninian park, Noticed jordi Gomez more though than him, was young back then though. Last time we played though, he got bullied by olafinjana and didn't have the best of games from what I remember. For Wales? He's done alright, keeps it simple that's all I can really say. What's your opinion of him?

Not to mention bothroyd missing that sitter in the first minute :ayatollah:
