How about the Barbican in Lansbury Park ?

Only went in there once, was about 16 sh1t myself.

It was burnt down a few months later so never got the chance to go back.

Surely one or 2 of the Aber Valley pubs should get a mention. Every time I've been to the Buffs there has been rucking in there.

cardiff yid wrote:Ah the Llanrumney Hall . Is it still open?. Defo a very very rough pub. It once belonged to Captain Morgan the pirate. My mates old man renovated it nearly 30 yrs ago . He reckons it cost them a fortune in plant and materials getting nicked . I remember my brother laughing at the barman wearing a dickie bow . He replied by saying he got strangled by his tie the night before  only been in there twice, fecking loons in there. Remember pulling up outside my mate had to pop in . While I was sat in his van , I seen some drunk guy stab some another guy right outside . Guy had a gaping hole under his armpit while the attacker tried to do him again. There's been a few shootings in there as well. :?

Aha the llanrumney hall is a listed establishment mate! The legendary CAPTAIN MORGANS very own abode ones apon a time! That place will never close down. Been some serious agro in that place even in my time. the landlord ones hired some headcase from Scotland to sort out all the local trouble makers and manage the door... He ended up troting away with his tail between his legs lol been shooting incidents and allsorts in that pub. Its quietened down a lot now, but it no doubt will explode back into life again like it always does after a quiet spell...its also haunted lmao

Not the roughest pub by a long shot.

But the Plough and Harrow in Monknash was a bit of an eye opener in the late Eighties.

Lots of Men with Bushy Moustaches

Crossed that one off my CAMRA list after that visit.

I played Rugby up there years ago i was still a youngster then, when i told my old man i was playing for the firsts he was chuffed when i told him it was up Glyncorrwg he pissed himself i'd never heard of it!!
On sat after 80 mins of getting the shit kicked into me we went back to a condemned building which they were using as a clubhouse as they were building their new one, as my old man worked in the same pit as a few of them he told them to look after me. What a place selling cans from behind a plank of wood but what a night superb night. Go up there now on my MTB place is bonkers!!

Glyncorrwg, Blaengwinfi and the Afan Valley is a tough place.

I'm reliably informed that The Croeserw, aptly nicknamed "The Bog", could be quite tasty, as well as The Navigation in Caerau.

We ended up there on our 5-a-side night Xmas do one year. About 14 of us (we used to split into 2 sides and play against each other every Friday) . A lot were ex-rugby players and plenty could handle themselves. One of the lads was at the bar with his son who must have only been about 18 and a bloke came up to him and said something along the lines of 'wow you've pulled a nice one there !', well what reaction would a father have other than to knock the dirty b*stard out, 'bang' down he went, out of the corner of his eye my mate saw a bouncer charge over and throw a haymaker, which he ducked under, only for the bouncers punch to hit my mates son -within seocnds it was like the OK corrall as everyone else joined in, our lads vs the bouncers and people who had nothing to do with it randomly joining in on both sides

I should have known it was going to kick off when one of the older ones with us said something out of order to a woman on the dancefloor and got punched full in the face

A godforsaken place that will live with me forever. After a club night many moons ago at of all places, Stamford Bridge, one of my crowd suggested going onto a place she knew of. I think this gaff was either in Stoke Newington or Dalston, both prime shiteholes. So, as we were walking in, she then decides to announce that the nickname of the dive is "The Gunshop". Absolutely.Fecking. Shocking. It made the bar in Total Recall look like Hooters. Couldn't get out of there quick enough. :o

the bell in taibach still has all the fun of the fair, just ask the jacks that turned up two seasons ago to turn the place over, they had a very warm welcome.
taibach workingmens club on a friday was legendary for the grab a granny theme
the carlton in station road has had its moments also,
last but not least, the legendary vivian park hotel
