Re: Welsh Language

as most of you know, I am not Welsh. But tbh, if I was I would try to learn to speak Welsh.

Language is a vital part of your culture, heritage and your national identity. This has nothing to do with being opposed to progress or internationalism. Protect your history, learn and speak the Welsh language, your language.

Too many welsh bi-lingual speakers use welsh as a means of communicating so that others cannot understand them specially in work places and shops. Also it does annoy me that if anything is announced its always in Welsh first, why its wastes time.

Yes' There is a certain element of Welsh speakers that leave the impression of ignorant arrogance in regards to your post, But believe it or not its not always as it seems though your veiws/experience dose happen as I'v experienced both sides, Iv been in a three way conversation with Welsh speakers that have instantly spoke english when asking me of my opinion and Iv answered Them with a kiss my Black Barry arrrrrrs (in Welsh) for Them to bombard me with an array of apologies and for me to disregard Their apologises because They were apologising in english until They realised They needed to apologies in Welsh for my acceptance and We started to laugh like hyena's because of the simple stupidity of it, On the other hand I speak english to the Teachers at My Daughters school but speak Welsh to my Daughters in front of the Teachers, I do this because of The previous ignorance I felt certain Teachers gave to me, where in the past Iv asked a teacher in Welsh a lengthy and detailed opinion in regards to My kids and got a lengthy detailed reply in english, I must admit at times I feel a bit childish yet I still end up talking english to the school staff weather They speak Welsh or english to me, yet its a scenario neither party wants, My point is weather I was right or wrong about Teachers previous attitudes toward me They/We would defo prefer a happier situation. But thats a people thing, not a language situation!!! :old:
