I am Welsh and very proud of it - I served in the RWF for 9 years and later served my country in another capacity.

However I know that my country, WALES, was never a united country we never had a King, we had Princes each owning their OWN part of wales for THEIR purpose and fighting each other (well , getting people like us to fight for them}

It was not until we were conquered by England, because they feared us so much, that WE were able to have an impact on the world.

Since then the WELSH have been major explorers, scientists, politicians etc - I do wish we could have done it alone but I do chuckle that the English made it happen!!

For such a small country we have had a significant impact on the world!!

And for Nationalism - no thanks !!

Best post on here, be proud of what we have achieved not what can drag us down for the future generations. We may be over shadowed by England on a global stage but by f**k we are more appreciated and respected. If we were independent we would be like any other country in Europe. England puts us on the map and by f**k do we take advantage of that.

Every single person reading this thread will have had to painstakingly explain who and where
Welsh people are from at one time on holiday, unless they just said "yeh mate I'm English!"

Half the people in Europe think Wales is a part of England, and the rest of Europe dont know
we exist. As for further afield. Yeh righto.

I suggest you stop holidaying on the Plains of the Serengetti and the Amazon rainforest then. Those tribal people haven't seen a f*cking atlas in their lives.
