The party bus was rocking coming back from Barnsley and then we had this news. After the shock the whole bus burst into "Eddie May's Barmy Army".

Eddie's tenure was before my time, but being a keen follower of Cardiff's history, I know how much of a legend he is.

R.I.P. EDDIE MAY!

Eddie May. God bless you. I remember going to Crewe in the early 90's probably from liverpool, and it was the days when the authorities tried to stop fans going to away games unless they had a ticket through the supporters club but we'd turn up anyway and the police would have a change of a heart. On this occasion I was outside with 50 or so others and they were adamant we weren't getting in. A si...de door opened and Eddie May walked out in his leather coat clutching a huge wad of complimentary tickets. He came to me first as I was nearest, gave me a ticket and told me to make sure I behaved myself in his costa del crime cockney accent. A real measure of the man. I've still got the ticket stub. I enjoyed going to football matches back then it was my favourite era, a great atmosphere and Eddie was a big part in making it happen, some memorable trips Wrexham, Scunthorpe and Austria. Whats his name?
