what are you studying or planning on studying
and what makes you think your degree will automatically secure you a well paid job
plus
in your eyes what constitutes as a well payed job

Get in QPR :ayatollah:

I'm hoping to go to Cardiff to study English Literature. I don't presume it will get me anywhere, espcially in this economic climate, I just know that it will benefit me when applying for jobs. I would be happy to earn £30k with opportunities to advance in the future.

so teacher then
as studying english literature gives you no practical skills
is 30k your starting pay
or something to achieve
wouldnt your time be better spent studying a practical subject such as law, medicine (if youve got the academic skills) or engineering
after all you can read whenever you want in your spare time

plus
how will an art degree benefit you other than proving to people you have the ability to learn as that will be an ability every prospective employee will have with any type of degree

good luck with your studies hope you achieve your goals

I think he started with the belittlement to be fair.

Trying to make out people were nothing if they had no education which in the real world is utter bollocks.

Yes, true - but as has been stated, he is a kid. Better not sinking to his level with regards that.

Cardiff I thought the way you are going on we were at least talking Oxbridge. ;)

Do they pay traffic wardens £30k :? :? :?

Is that the third time you've tried the traffic warden joke? Are you waiting for comical uproar or something?

and as for the views on my chosen subject, I have carefully considered my choice and I believe that it is the right one. Law isn't as great as people believe because jobs are scarce and the subject is so mundane. If I wanted, shock horror, I could go for a career in law with an English degree yet it doesn't appeal to me. It is very versatile and highly regarded, regardless of your opinons, by employers.

In his defence, as someone who knows, I can verify that having ANY kind of a degree would certainly benefit him in many office jobs (would probably push him up a scale or two). In the NHS for example, many band 3 positions request a degree - resulting in a starting wage of 26k or so, for what is a pretty low level position.

I did have more important things on my mind that day than which style of scarf is most suitable for a trip to Wembley. Surely its just a basic way to wear a scarf? Never given it much thought tbh.

for me,i dont buy newspapers, and seldom watch the news,my judgements are made by what i see,i totally agree that whatever you read in the newspapers....tabloid or other you can be fed whatever shit they want to feed you.i personally have never said we need to stop immigration...but what we desperately need to do is close the gates on people that come over and just live off benefits.im not allowedto pack my bags and go to canada, america or australia,i have to apply and see if i meet the criteria that the respective governments require.why cant britain do the same??? :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Polo, as an "adult" don't you have better things to be doing with your time on a wednesday night than indulging in name calling with a teenager over a football message board.
