Can't believe some people think it was wrong of the City supporters to help the police with the incident. You lot need to have a long hard look in the mirror.

I personally would have got Brizzle lad over my knee and given him a few slaps on the arse, nothing more demoralizing....seriously just pin down and tanned till he cried. Yeh yeh, save me the moral high ground oh rightgeous ones. To counteract what you say about it still being a crime, it's the real world....fair enough. Also In the real world a lad provoking a majority crowd of likely lads is expecting a slap, it's just the way it is and will always be.

Im sure it was estabilished as a unprovoked attack from behind, according to a witness earlier on in the thread

It's been reported by an eye witness that the Bristol fan was not mouthing off hence it was an unprovoked attack.

lol he did get what he deserved
if you make a decision in life you have to live with the consequences
and thats not even just breaking the law
every action has a re-action get used to it
im not whiter than white far from it
i dont pretend to be perfect
but if you assault someone
the chance of you getting away with it is there
also the chance of you getting caught, arrested and sent to prison is there as well
if you dont want to go to prison dont take the actions that show a good chance of you ending up there
simple really

Fair points but the celebrations/joy of some make me sick. He made a mistake of judgement, who hasn't?

thats fair but you could say the same for the people who are wholly disgusted that this guy got arrested
in their mind he was just doing what is acceptable at football and had no reason for getting arrested
after all if you go to an away game you expect to get into trouble so dont moan about it

a mistake of judgement.......so in his head he's thinking "shall i run up to that guy walking by his dad not bothering anyone and assault him, or shall i not?"

bit more than a "mistake of judgement" i say more like "total thuggery"

i can't say ive seen anyone celebrating he's gone down, only saying he got what he deserved.

Wind your neck in. We are not talking a 20 on 20 row with like minded individuals both up for it, just some bullying c**t showing off in front of his mates.

People going on about respect and reputation, f**k me the sort of lads involved in getting that so-called reputation (not that it matters now its 2011, people have grown up, well most have) would be disgusted with this bullying.

Leave the bullying to the Jacks.

If the wurzel was mouthing off, he got what he deserved. if he wasnt why the f**k was he walking around with Cardiff
fans ? obviously trying to be a clever c**t.

now someone has 18 months and the prick from brizzle is probably telling his mates how he took on the Soul Crew.

he should have kept his head down and made sure he was not standing out as a wurzel. if you were alone at West Ham, Leeds, your not going to be walking around trying to take the mick, so f**k him.

What, trying to get back to his car makes him a clever c**t??

The only one mouthing about the Soul Crew is probably the bully in prison.

Thinks hes Soul Crew cos he smashed some kid with his dad. Pffft. Soul Crew my arse. At least 10 years too late.

but he wasnt mouthing off that was established
why was he hanging around cardiff fans
well correct me if im wrong but wasnt this game played at our ground so hes never going to be that far away from cardiff fans anyway
the truth is this guy took a chance to look big and hit someone from behind probably so he could act the hard man in front of his mates back in his local
but i suppose any excuse will do
for the mighty soul crew to justify their actions

This guy isnt Soul Crew. I know plenty of decent lads who could be classed as Soul Crew, back when it was a way of life, and most would think this bully was a prick.

oh i know ive been working for this club to know the difference between an opportunistic bully and a hooligan
not that i ever agreed with football hooliganism but i understood the principle
if that makes sense

i never said he wad soul crew. i .said the wurzel will be making it out. never liked a bully. but he should have had a lower profile. if you got a gutless cocky comment d

I wasn't there so don't know if he was mouthing or not but for sure being a scarfer he should not of been touched. If this guy had a problem with him then face him not hit him from behind. Should he of been grassed up ? Well he should of been sorted by someone. But had he done that on a Friday night he would of only got a caution. Those Women that seriously beat up another lass blamed it on drink do do there religion and got let off. So there is no consistency in the law :?

whats gutless and cocky about our comments
this was a cowardly attack the same type of attack this forum has criticised the likes of southampton and bristol city are allegedly capable of
but if cardiff attack innocent fans
its all above board and acceptable
maybe he was mouthing off
maybe he just had one of those funny looks
but maybe he just had the audacity to by a ticket for a football match which his favourite team were competing in

16 months in jail

City fan is jailed for assault on rival supporter
by Kathryn Williams, South Wales EchoDec 15 2011

A CARDIFF City fan has been jailed for 16 months for the assault on a rival supporter.

Jack Martin, right, also received a seven-year football banning order at Cardiff Crown Court after pleading guilty to the unprovoked attack on Bristol City fan Matthew Holloway in August.

The 23-year-old, of Gladstone Road, Barry, was said to have either hit Mr Holloway with his forearm or pushed him, in front of his father, who had been in South Wales with him. Crown prosecutor Steve Harmes described the incident as a “quite deliberate act.”

Cardiff City fans were praised for helping in the arrest.

South Wales Police had previously said that other Cardiff supporters assisted with the apprehension of Martin.

They pointed him out at the scene and later made statements which would have been used in evidence if Martin had denied the offence and had gone on trial before a jury.

Officer in the case PC Tony Sheehan said: “Assaults of this nature are thankfully extremely rare in Cardiff.

“Cardiff City fans showed they do not tolerate this kind of behaviour as demonstrated by the many home supporters who not only assisted the victim but also officers at the scene.

“We are extremely grateful for their support.”

considering what some of the cardiff boys got down at chelsea for not really doing anything, this lad got off lightly!
