It was under Sam we had to pull into the services on the way to Preston so Dave Jones could take a call to see if we had been put into liquidation by HMRC or not. It was under Sam we were constantly selling the crown jewels. It was Sam that would make massive promises about budgets in public only for Dave Jones to admit there was no money for transfers.
End of the day, Tan lied to you personally to your face and I get how that would shape your opinion on top of everything else, but for those of us not in anyone's inner circles, Sam lied to all of us, he lied over and over again and screwed the club for his own gain. And hat makes him as bad if not worse than Tan.
Other than Rick... all our owners have been as bad as each other, so I just don't get the constant need to focus on Tan every five minutes when we are having the most enjoyable season in decades in my opinion. Tan, Riddler and Sam equally bad as each other and Kumar was even worse.

I know for a Fact Sam was Never ever going to put us under his battle was with Tan who had signed and agreed the £24mill.
As to Sam, before Sam came we virtually never had a club.
As to Sam we were worthless before he came with 4,000 Crowds.
Do we not keep being put under Embargo’s under your Tan? Yes or No?
Are we now not in more debt than ever?
Are we now not in league 1?
Were we not virtually killed as a club under Tans Despicable Rebrand?
Tan had the chance to be the greatest ever owner, yet all he thought and cared about was his so called Red / Not Our Club, A Fact.

Lets start with a correction, it was less than 4000 but more like 2000 if we got lucky. I recall walking the Bob Bank, spoilt for choice, and when I got bored of that I would pick my step to sit on and I would still have a full view of the pitch.
As for those knocking Sam who took us from the pit of the dungeon to knocking on the door on the Premier, well what an ungrateful spoilt brats you lot are. I'm not sure what went wrong with him, it fills like there are a few missing pieces of the jigsaw solution that one day will appear and tell us all the truth.

My apologies Ian,
I was trying to be generous to the Tan fan.
Your right and don’t forget Sam has never been Relegared.
What he’s done is try and change the Topic and bring up 19 yes ago.
Tan has been in charge 16 years and we are far worse of now than when he arrived .
He’s Also Forgot Tan has always promised us we would be Debt Free???

Sam claiming to love us, be part of us, be one of us, all the while, taking the club to brink of bankrupcy, lying constantly that he wasn't Langstone, and continuing to put the club in serious danger until he got his reward for screwing us while smiling to our faces.
Only person with any credibility at the city for decades is Steve Borley, god knows where the club would have been without him. He is a proper bluebird through and through.
You read to much crap in the media.
How do you know we would not have had a Club ???
You forget I know The Riddler , Tan and Sam personally and I know who the real liars are and who cares or cared really for our club.
"The Tan Fan",Your nothing if not consitently predictble Annis mate

Love the fact you had to drop that in despite the fact that I said in each of my posts I stated I'd don't particularly like the man and would be happy to see him go.
And as for unspoilt brats, yeah maybe your right, I totally accept that criticism.
Hard not to argue exactly the same label should be applied to all those who have a melt down when we don't sign a bunch of lower-league mediocre journeymen, assuming the owner hasn't backed the manger (despite no actual evidence to confirm that was the case and the manager actually saying the opposite)
Especially, when the owner they call "Dictator" took us to two cup finals and the premier league twice and kept us the championship for two decades, built the academy we have now flourishing and hired the best manager we've ever had.
It obviously should go both ways, can't have one with the other.
For the record I am actually very grateful to Sam for the good he did and think it just about outweighs the Langstone stuff, but that really does leave a very nasty taste in the mouth. However, I can say mostly the same of Tan. Some great highs and some very bad tastes in my mouth.
I get you have a closer perspective.
Sam put you in his inner circle, you were (probably still are) close friends and you're a loyal guy - respect that. Tan comes in, you're not in that inner circle anymore, then he lied to your face and did the rebrand and your not a guy that can forgive that - again respect tha.
But you got to realise mate, you're the super fan, the one in Sam's inner circle, the one on the podcasts, the one with the books and the forum - the rest of us regular Joe's? We don't have that inside knowledge and we don't have those close friendships or disagreements to shape tour opinion.
You're right, all we get is what we see in the media, on here and in the court documents, so we have to make our minds up on that, and we can't do much about shit.
So for us normal folks, end of the day, owners come and go and thats that. They do some good stuff some teriible stuff and we just get on with the footy.
We have the luxury of not having to take Sam's side cos he's our mate, or have to have a life-long vendetta against Tan cos he lied to us. And so this season when everything is going right for once, the whole Tan is the Devil thing is just really boring, and the pro Sam anti-Tan bias just comes off as a guy with a lot of influence grinding out a vendatta against someone he doesn't like while backing up his mate.
Nothing particularly wrong with that, but if we're being honest, its never going to be balanced and there's plenty of people on here who just echo what you say because of who you are.
Sorry, if that offends, genuinely have a lot of respect for you and appreciate the effort you put into building the site, its my first port of call for City news and the only site I comment on, but I'm just the type of person that has to say it as I see it, just never been good at the fake it to fit in thing and at my age now can't be arsed changing that.![]()

You're actually mixing up eras a little there.
By the time Sam took over Rick Wright had already revitalised the club from those basement sub 3K attendance days to a more respectable 5/6K by the time he sold up to the Kumars, they then kept it stable at 4K back in the basement for a few years and then with a promotion back to division 2 they actually got the average to just under 8K in their last season before Sam took over.
Sam obvs then really pushed us on and the average attendance across his 5 seasons was just over 13K. Obviously pushing us into the championship was a massive catalyst for the club to grow as it did in the next twenty years.

I think we are able to ignore the media bullshit mate and make our own minds up. Everyone has their own perspective on stuff that’s what makes the debate so healthy. Ealing has made some very good points and that is his perspective on things.
Everything you do and say is done from love for Sam. Having spoken to you about it (and Sam on one occasion you got him to wish me happy birthday) I know why that love is so deep.
It’s why you are such a class bloke mate and have so much respect from all quarters.
Don’t change Annis.
