Or perhaps they genuinely haven’t been completed yet. Auditors grappling with going concern , nothing would surprise me with our owners …

If Wez’ post re the accounts already being submitted to Companies House (3 months ahead) are correct, then it would be exceptionally odd that they weren’t submitted to the EFL on time

A lot of rumours doing the rounds right now, including one that the embargo has already been lifted. However, the EFL website says it is still in place

We’ve been here before (late submission) and I’m minded to think it was an ‘issue with interpreting changes from FFP to PSR’, although someone might enlighten me on that?

I sincerely hope that the club will be able to make an early and official statement on the situation, and give supporters a proper timescale for it being sorted, rather than dripping of it via a regrettably unreliable media source

If the accounts were submitted to Companies House 3 months ago they'd be showing on Companies House. They aren't.

Looks like Wez may have seen the HR Owen accounts submitted to Companies House! 100% not the same! :ayatollah:

No but the club's fault that they didn't arrange a replacement to ensure their statutory obligations are met. Unless of course they are happy for BBM not to have the opportunity to use the transfer window.

Their are others who could do this, I know exactly how it works.

It’s all pure Bullshit from the Clowns once again.

Completely agree - if the plumber doesn't turn up to repair your boiler in the winter, you get someone else pronto.

Prize Muppetry, especially as this appears to be a repeat offence.

It is once too often, but it is not like a plumber not turning up. You KNOW the plumber didn't turn up.

When you retain a company to undertake a role for you. You do not KNOW there is an issue unless you are told.

I think the issue is that the club need to retain the services of better professionals, whether they are accountant, insurers or legal.

Sorry but that isn't how this sort of thing works - having had the responsibility of managing limited companies, I'd say any competent Finance Director would be talking to the auditors frequently to check the submission complies with the regulation period. It is crass incompetence if this task fails to be actioned, even through staff absence, as other staff should be allocated etc.

And knowing the EFL rules and the subsequent sanction of a transfer embargo should fuel extra vigilance in this department.

Spot on. If there are likely to be repercussions from a deadline not being met, it makes zero sense for our Finance Director not to be putting the utmost pressure on the auditors to meet the deadline, regardless of any staffing issues they might have.

Until you get to the crunch point where you either:
- Stick with the auditor you've got in the hope it's completed on time
- Switch to an alternative provider, where it definitely won't be completed on time.

Stretching to make excuses I’m afraid.

Accounts submitted and embargo expected to be lifted early next week, according to sources

Don’t shoot the messenger, as I’m just putting information provided out there!
