It's no big deal in context of the great men, Martin Luther King, etc. who have fallen to USA obsession with guns.

In the UK, he's a nobody, so why the fuss?

He's not even a politician Alan, just a loud mouth youtuber who had to debate college kids because debating adults was too difficult. You're not alone in wondering why the fuss in any country never mind the UK, if only there was 10% of this fuss made over school kids getting shot while they're in school, not to mention actual politicians being assassinated on their doorsteps.

I’m actually shocked at some of the ignorance shown in this thread, and anyone who writes Charlie Kirk’s assassination off as ‘of no interest to the UK’, is not seeing the bigger picture in world politics!

Some pretty stupid statements in the mix above and my own lack of full understanding on the matter has kept me out of it for now, but what I will say (now I’m here) is that Charlie Kirk, of whom I have little or no opinion on as a person or speaker, did not deserve to die like that, nor did his family deserve to lose their loved one to a mixed up ‘drop out’ kid, who (seemingly) gained his hatred through a lack of information, whilst gratifying himself on the dark web!

Despite what some say, this assassination will have a profound effect on US politics going forward; particularly with a narcissistic, perpetually lying (near) octogenarian chasing his own selfish agenda at huge cost to US national security, civility, and cohesion

And furthermore, it gobsmacks me that a thread like this can cover three (so far) pages, whilst the good news of our manager and one of his players winning important monthly awards, hardly got a response!

I’m not against ‘off topic’ threads, but when they’re seemingly more important that the football topics on which this great Forum is built, it’s maybe time for some to look for pastures new to let their (apparent) political frustrations (real or perceived) off?! :(

Ironic he was debating about gun massacres in schools when shot!
