obviously the stadium (£90m+?) the other tangible elements, such as the Vale lease. Playing squad (which we know everyone will dispute value), the trading business itself. And last but not at all least, the tax losses in the accounts.

These are carried forward and set against future profits before tax is payable. But are predominantly funded by him and some to Dalman, from the bulk of comments and aren’t owing to trade creditors.

I don’t go looking for the accounts and wouldn’t know they show. But I assume the cumulative losses are very high.
Years ago I had clients who bought companies with historic losses funded by the owners. And paid a decent proportion of the losses.
I don’t think it’s such a basket case of a purchase for a well funded buyer. If we get any form of settlement on the Sala case I think a sale could go through swiftly.

But this is Cardiff City, :ayatollah:

Tan has a deal with Cardiff council.

He'll own our stadium and rent it out to whoever a new owner is.

Because he can't sell stadium e can only rent it out can't imagine lease is 99yr one so won't have to much value to tan.. suspect it will come as part of deal anyway.... thankfully we can't get into the mess other clubs like Coventry derby found themselves in when taken over.

I thought it was a 150 yr lease.
No difference to a leasehold flat, in principle. So he should be able to sell the lease on, subject to council consent. Same as someone buying a leasehold flat. Quite a lot of commercial properties on industrial estates are long leasehold, not freehold. And they’re frequently sold on in same fashion.

But my main point in my post was to raise awareness that the tax losses can actually be of “value” to Vinny in amongst it all. And it’s not just dead money he’s thrown in.
For conversation, Say there’s £200m of cumulative losses in the accounts. If someone gave him £100m for that, they can earn double that before any corporation tax is due . And on the flip side, vinny writes off £100m losses and gets whatever tax relief he would on that. Or he may even be able to set those losses against other profits. Either way, the net, net loss to him has the potential be dramatically reduced.

Looking at all the different articles and that about the club, I’m inclined to agree with another OP who asks are we close to seeing the end of Tans ownership. I think we are.

Sam,

I was told once to go easy on you.

But you make such bad posts it's impossible.

That is not a constructive post at all.

You've ignored the point of the thread and normally have some weird obsession with Welsh connections so thought you'd build on that because of Bale in this thread.

But you've made a post which says nothing.

Baffled.

Bit harsh but equally as funny.

It did make me chuckle.

Indicative Offer is just that - an opener. It's when we get to "Letter of Intent" it would get interesting. LOI is when all the detailed financial due diligence happens.

I never thought I'd see the day when we're all wanting to be taken over by Americans, but here we are...I suppose it could be worse, could have been the Middle East sportswashing crowd.

Football club owners are the most inappropriate collection of Dodgy Daves, of any country.

Anyway - CTID

I just don't like unconstructive comments.

Might have been a bit harsh but I've tried very hard to be soft on Sam due to being told to, sometimes my patience explodes

Just an opinion but you seem very condescending. Who wants to post on a board that is so controlling? Is this Russia?

He has not offended anyone; it is just your personal opinion. ""My patience explodes"" WTF ???

Sometimes, some fans just like to let off a little steam and air their views. He's not been offensive in any way whatsoever.

Having your patients explode is not good ,so are you the right person for the job?

Just asking. :? :? :?

BTW, this is a post to help it be a constructive thread. It may improve the Sergeant Major type mentality.
