I wonder if that includes yourself then? Poor form to accuse 75% of posters though!! I for one have never indulged, and I would imagine I'm not alone? And besides, those on here that have "indulged" probably didnt sign a fat lucrative contract, which clearly states any drug offence will be punished, and rightly so imho, they also have a duty to adhere to that contract,or get booted out if they dont!
To suggest poor form from the club is ludicrous to the extreme!
They "got behind" him, then he basically sticks his middle finger up to them,by repeating the offence, just weeks after serving 1st ban!!
What is poor form,is people such as yourself, there are youngsters who look up to players you know?
But according to your logic, cocaine taking is ok!! Sorry but you are wrong,he HAD to go,good riddance I say. And you are right on one thing only, the club are the only losers here, but have my admiration for making the correct decision this time.

Well said mate.

I’d rather the club act honourably and principled in this matter and actually lose out than be like Warnock and Middlesbrough.

Welcome back...! ;)

Two previous posts on here in over 2 years and you suddenly decide to post on a drugs thread and accuse 75% of this Forum of being (quote) "hypocrites..." :?

You need to wise up and find out the facts before doing that, fella!

Put simply, you haven't got a Scooby what you are talking about

And whilst I am here, who are (quote) "You lot..."? :?

Us as people? ? Us as Bluebird supporters (which seemingly counts you out with that remark? ;) )

Let us know, please; we are intrigued

Superbly put .

Absolutely no sympathy for NML, he’s been given an opportunity in life and a level of financial security that the vast majority of us can only dream about.

No ones perfect, but the utter stupidity to do what he has on more than one occasion is staggering. As far as I’m concerned Boro are welcome to him, a quick glance at their forum reveals some interesting views on drug use too, chief amongst them being that Heroin isn’t particularly dangerous :banghead:.

Last word from me? Who thinks NML's form will improve clean from Cocaine? If we assume he has a large habit, and is 'addicted' this is what the rehab centres say. 60% of ex-addicts put weight on. 20% of those become obese.

It seems cocaine is a massive problem throughout society, especially with people under the age of 30

https://news.sky.com/story/uk-has-secre ... s-11741220

On ML. Is he guilty? Yes. Was he stupid? Yes. Were the club justified in sacking him? Yes.

Could or should the club have tried to offer him more support before giving him the bullet? Hmm.. I'd say possibly, although I obviously do not know the full facts. I seem to remember Rio Ferdinand missing a drugs test amid allegations of cocaine misuse and Manchester utd and Alex Ferguson should by the player.

I can see both sides of the argument on this. I honestly do hope ML gets well and overcomes his demons. I also hope he never scores another goal as a professional football player.

Nothing I suspect as its totally irrelevant whether its performance enhancing or not as it is a banned substance in football ! Get caught using it you face consequences personally he should have got season long ban for the 2and offence.

Should political leaders be banned from doing their jobs for life also? The prime minister has admitted taking cocaine as has a lot of the cabinet. They make decisions which affect a kids life more the ML could ever do. He's been stopped from playing football for a period of time, the offence was not deemed serious enough for a politician to be banned from making decisions which effect peoples lives.

Rio ferdinand missed a scheduled testing (standard pracgice) and yes their were allegations of coca in, but no evidence , as he deliberately missed the test! So man utd stood by him ;)

NML failed (twice) and admitted to ocaine use, very different indeed
He was banned once, and fully supported, and paid to boot, then comes back into the fold, and commits the same offence :banghead: as for getting well ? He's not ill as such, just f@cking selfish  has shown his true colours with the one statement he initially made, thanking us for our support! Support he got un fairly if you ask me, as if fans would have known the truth earlier, he wouldn't have had "our support".

Where's his apology for letting the club and fans down?? He should donate his wages to charity, from the 1st offence until he was sacked. 8-) I will repeat, I wish the boy no harm, but have absolutely 0 sympathy for him. :old: :bluebird:
