Surely after today Labour have to drop the pretence of supporting any form of Brexit. We knew it anyway but to actually try and give the vote to 3 million EU citizens just to get into power wont go down well in their leave supporting constituencies.

the general idea is that you vote for who you most agree with.
I proper don't get this fan mentality regarding politics.

People who work and pay taxes here are entitled to vote surely just as much as brits abroad are entitled to send their votes home

Other than our relationship with the ROI there's no other country in Europe ( probably the world ) that allows foreign citizens to participate in their national elections. A good number of European countries allow participation in local elections and participation in European elections is a right under European law.

Most but not all, allow their nationals working abroad participation in their national elections. There's a range of qualifying criteria.

Yesterday's attempt by the opposition parties to extend voting to foreign nationals and Children on a motion amendment was nothing short of outrageous. Fundamental changes to voting rights shouldn't be taken through the back door. What was even more outrageous and a sign of things to come is that the BBC, News at Ten and Newsnight didn't even make a single reference to it.

Don't you think that Labour's current position is more favoured to the wine bars of Islington, Dulwich and Battersea than the working man clubs of Islwyn, Dowlais and Bargoed. No it won't go down well! A lot of labour mps are preying that the electorate take no notice of fact they ignored the constituants who voted out? Opposition mps will push that fact yes be same for any mp but labour far more vulnerable than other parties.

one thing that been proved beyond doubt this last 3 years is that most of the MPs WE voted in couldn't give a flying fck for their constituents opinions...
on a side note id be as proud as punch if any of my kids had gone to Oxbridge and have always found the begrudge and envy language from labour ,especially some of their leaders who are actually well to do themselves off putting.
