Left under a cloud created by the vindictive Tan man, still receiving parachute payments from MMs success, it was OGS who took us down, had MM stayed with few January signings probably still be in the prem, instead the vindictive one let a no hoper totally f*ck us up!

Come off it, 1 away in 3 months and like 3/4 home wins.. yeah staying up we was with Malky in charge.

Answer a question, when MM left was we in the bottom 3? By end of season how much from 4th bottom were we? Take you blinkers off, two people sent us down, the vindictive man and OGS!

You gonna let MM walk away with no blame? Classic.

We weren't no but we were basically gonna be in there with MM..Look at his last game v Southampton and the way the team performed for him.

I don't think anyone was going to keep us up that season. The simple fact is that we were not good enough to remain at that level. We wasted a lot of money, and with the squad we had I never believed we were any more likely to stay up than we are to get promoted this season.

Oh you know that yes? Of course you don't, and if he signed 1 or 2 he wanted instead of the wankers OGS signed like le fondra, whom we are still paying for now, we may well of stayed up, may not of, but would definatly had a better chance with MM than OGS!

Regarding Tan, Spot on Nukes.

Under Tan I have never felt so low following City, so for me, your right its been my worst time in following City in 44 years.

I don't believe MM was a racist but unfortunately he made racist remarks in text messages. At best that proves he was a fool and added to the evidence that his judgement was questionable when you add the awful signings he made as manager and the wasted millions.

I know your defence of MM is VT had to sign off the deals but that only proves that VT also made mistakes it does-not vindicate MM in any way.

I accept there is a difference between being a full blooded racist and simply making un-PC remarks. MM made what could be interpreted as racist remarks in his text messages to Iain Moody but I don't believe that he was someone who deliberately discriminated against black players because of their ethnicity and frankly there is no evidence he ever did.

However, those text messages do raise questions about his judgement and what he really says in private. In this day and age you simply can't get away with that. I do believe that he should be given a second chance but he has to accept his behaviour now rules him out of certain jobs especially jobs which involve working with vulnerable people such as youngsters.

I personally wouldn't want him back as I believe he used the supporters for his own agenda and wasted millions of pounds on some terrible signings.

Ask any manager of managers

Some managers will succeed from nothing while some managers only succeed by not following rules !

Personally i think malky was the last.

Yes he brought promotion & yes a cup final
But he never once stood up to the rebrand & stood up for the fans !

And I believe Brendan Rogers in his last game altered his tactics to make Malky look good

What non PC things do we all say in private ? Yeah I admit I am the most un PC person I know   but come on do Black people say un PC things to each other in private ? Of coarse they do. My god is there any whiter than white people out there that are angels ? Someone is always offended by something in this day and age. We live in an age that words are seen as a much more serious crime than rape or murder and ain't that the truth.

Racist

I don't believe that MM was a racist although I do not or would not use that kind of language myself.

I also think it was the wrong time to get rid of MM, he stood a good a chance as anyone in keeping us up apart from Warnock or Pulis.

I do though think that MM was the main (not only - our transfer committee are also to blame) perpetrator of spunking away so much money and became quite arrogant with dubious dealings. And honestly despite a few decent performances I didn't like his brand of football.

So while I think some people go OTT in criticising MM, I do feel some people overlook some of MM failures.

The truth is probably, as nearly always, somewhere in the middle.

   Good post and yes you are right about Malky in a football sense. I didn't like his brand of football as Annis will tell you but I do realise with the players we had it was maybe the best option. And yes as all managers some of his signings was well dodgy. But I believe he would of improved the team to play better standard of football. Remembering Man City at home we played out of our skins.
But on a selfish point of view and very controversial one in a way I was glad Malky was sacked because we then went down and then returned to blue. Had Malky stayed and kept us up we would still be red today.

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

Fri Feb 24, 2017 12:48 pm

Malky may not be a proper racist but in his profession he should've known better so he's got no one to blame but himself on that and as for Tan he shouldn't have let the saga drag on for a couple of more months and should've acted as soon as Moody was booted out.

I wish us as a fan base would draw a line in the sand and finally look to the future instead of always bringing up Malkey and mistakes of the past. I was one of his biggest fans but you can't hide from the fact that his singings were so bad that he deserved the sack on that alone. Whatever your opinion it is what is, we've moved on and so has he. We've had some extremely positive news with Warnock today lets get excited and enjoy supporting Cardiff City again. If any fan base deserve it we do. Lets be optimistic and start getting excited about following these players and Manger. Their brand of football is the Cardiff identity that I recognise. I don't know about everyone else but for me the buzz is definitely coming back.

So is this not a football forum to debate and talk about Jimmy Scoular, Frank Burrows, Eddie May, Slade, Ole,Trollope Warnock etc or because you don't like Malky, others can't talk bout him?
It suits you and Wez to talk about only the future and if you look at the stickies they mostly are about the future so why don't you both stay of these topics   :thumbright:

TBH Annis I would love to see more topics on Jimmy Scoular, Frank Burrows, Eddie May (not so much on Slade, Ole and Trollope though). I think the point the poster was making is the MM debate has been recycled time and again and posters are a little fed up with it.

That said this is a 4 page thread so I might be on dodgy ground ;)

Reading the comments in this thread we were boarding on the same old discussion that dived us. It's all opinions and everyone ones entitled to them!! It shows how emotive the topic is by the 4 pages of responses. I also totally recognise the positive topics and lets have more of them because it means we're on the up!!!

Like you said its turned in to a 4 page debate which shows its a healthy debate, when theres no debate I get accused of copy/paste boring debate, I can't win.
