At 7.46 you won't care. You should'nt speak for everyone, you don't know how others feel and neither do I. I suppose it depends on how you have been personally affected by war, and whether or not you have lost someone close to you as a direct result of this. I would'nt presume to tell people that they won't care once a game of football starts, and can't understand someone who thinks they speak for everyone when in fact, they are speaking for themselves. I am sure plenty will feel the same as you, but not everyone will.

The whole poppy issue is becoming rather mired in accusation and counter accusation. We have certainly seen a uplift in recognition for our war dead and wounded over the last ten years especially, and rightly so.What I advocate is simple, those who have fallen vis a vis their families, and those that have been seriously wounded should have a commensurate liveable pension for life. If you are prepared to put your neck on the line as a soldier we as a country should recognise such sacrifice with a financial guarantee. Yes poppies are important but too many vets end up on the streets, in jail, taking their own lives , why can't we wake up to this !!! I have worked with many of the aforementioned it just pisses me off !Gestures are nice and fluffy let us get real and tackle the "actual" crisis with our service men and women.

Ironically, that idiotic dictator type fascism is the exact attitude that these men gave their lives to try to eradicate.

But who cares about that when everyone is in an annual competition to shout from the rooftops how much they are remembering - and how much others aren't remembering as much as they are.

Pathetic.

Maybe the poppy has become a political symbol....or maybe it's actually something that the British people are allowed to still have pride in.So much has been taken away for fear of offending that we are no longer allowed to be proud of this country and maybe the poppy has given us something back.... :ayatollah:

Your not wrong, the bleeding hearts are never slow to tell you just how much they care and if you disagree over something like this well lookout. The people that wan't to tell you how to honour(or not) these fallen hero's are ironically missing the point of why they fought in the first place.
