What a nonsense thing to say. You were out of work when you were sacked as being a councillor. Yet you refuse to accept you were incapable. You are so thick it is frightening.

Where as if the 10 unskilled jobs were given to the 10 unskilled people then the 10 skilled jobs would be there for the 10 skilled people to fill appropriately thus reducing unemployment to 0% and all companies have their workforce boosting the economy.

Simple economics.

How the hell are you a teacher? The jobs market does not work in the way you think it does at all. The number of jobs available, people going in and out of work is a fluid number all the time constantly changing, so there is never a 20 jobs available, 20 unemployed people case scenario. Even more laughable when you try and portray a scenario as a 50% split on skilled and unskilled positions. Are you an English teacher by any chance just throwing together your next scheme of work for when you return to the classroom because this shite you're conjuring up is right out of a fantasy novel.

You've also failed to even consider the numerous other variables at play when considering the economic make up of the country but instead have tried to portray this idealistic scenario which suits your argument. Not to mention that its full of logical fallacies for a start. Unfortunately for you I studied a few economics modules through choice as part of my university degree because my eventual aim is to set up my own business. Thanks for providing us all with a good laugh though.

Now, please tell me what happens when your scenario is adjusted to reflect the real world whereby there is a mass number of overqualified people for jobs (many of whom are graduates), a mass number of unskilled positions available and numerous immigrants coming from all over the globe adding more competition to the labour market? Lets not even factor in all of the most complex variable such as those on maternity leave, those on long term sick etc.

What happens is, you get overqualified people (people with degrees) going into unskilled positions (flipping burgers) and thats how they get jobs because there aren't enough skilled jobs to be taken up by the skilled labour market. Who'd have ever thought that the concept of supply and demand would be so applicable to the jobs market? Who'd have thought such a basic economic principle would be applicable, aye? Now, that's exactly why you get graduates working at places like McDonalds because unfortunately not everyone can find a job as a computer forensics expert or a lawyer working in the city. That is the reality of the world so people take up jobs 'they're too overqualified to do' until the job they do want to do comes along.

You must have thought I was some young stupid teenager when you tried to fob me off with that economic dribble. You haven't got a clue.

I am a teacher because i have superb qualifications and an excellent teaching manner. Some students struggle to understand sometimes. A bit like you here, but i am patient.

The example I gave was a simplified version to explain how bottlenecks in unemployment are created by overqualified people taking jobs "beneath them". There is a finite amount of jobs, if there wasn't then unemployment wouldn't be in existence. There IS a % of skilled jobs and there IS a % of unskilled jobs. I couldn't tell you accurately what that % was however.

Your second paragraph seems to be a lot of posturing on your part without actually saying anything at all. It is not an idealistic scenario... It is the scenario. If skilled people take unskilled jobs then that job is off the market. Thus meaning an unemployed unskilled worker will stay unemployed and presumably claiming benefits. That is the way it works, you can deny it all you like but no module anybody takes regarding economics will tell them otherwise and that it just simply a fact.

You are being obtuse for the sake of it and taking an entirely relevant simple example and adding scenarios that do not need to be added to prove its legitimacy. If we had skilled people taking unskilled jobs and unemployment was non existent then you would have a point. However you are just saying reasons why skilled workers take unskilled jobs and not addressing the problems it causes. I am well aware people work in McDonalds with degrees for a short time. I have told you why i wont do this and that is firstly because i dont want to and secondly because it is (undeniably) bad for the economy and unemployment rates.

No i didn't think you were a child, i know exactly who you are James :laughing6: i have laughed at your uneducated nonsense for many years :laughing6:

Im a teacher as well you dunce. The difference is I teach in England where teaching standards are higher. Might want to up your game pal although I know thats going to be a bit hard with that inept Labour government telling you how things are.

Very inaccurate as illustrated by the statements I made. Stop talking about something you have no clue about whatsoever.

Yes, that is not what you initially said though. Now you have worded it in a way that is correct. It still doesn't validate your laziness and excuses that have been made in this discussion.

So you think there isn't a finite amount of jobs? Christ you are scary!

Thats exactly what I said James. There is no laziness in applying for teaching jobs and not accepting benefits I am entitled to.

Urm, yes I am. I'm also a member of all three main unions. Also, I'm not friends with Andrew Mercer so unless you're looking at an old account, try again.

So you think there isn't a finite amount of jobs? Christ you are scary!

You're not very good at comprehending points now are you? What I said was that your initial statement did not state there was a finite number of jobs. You conjured up a complete fallacy of a scenario and then tried to pass it off as such. I agreed with your second statement which actually made more sense. Of course there are a finite number of jobs in circulation, unless of course you create your own, but we both know that is not an easy task.

What, you reckon i only thought there was 20 jobs in the UK? :laughing6:

Here's part of my NUT membership card. You won't prove anything other than you are an idiot but we already knew that. I'm an ICT and Computing teacher. I graduated last year.

Yeah, I work 5 days a week starting Monday and finishing Friday. I'll be sure to mention this in staff briefing though. And yes I am a teacher, I am just not a qualified teacher. Still recognised nationally as a teacher hence why I can be called a teacher. I have not once claimed to be a qualified teacher.
