As anindividual who has spent a number of years working in the Middle East I can confidently say there is no war between the jes and the arabs until religion kicks in.

You're living peacefully in your nice 3 bedroom and some bully knocks your door, kicks the shit out of you and moves in.You're now living on the pavement outside while the bully builds an extension and swimming pool and slowly but surely pushes you further and further up the pavement and out of the street.You're now expected to sit back and take it all.That's a bitter pill to swallow.Don't believe the BBC as they'll always side with the Israelis.For a more balanced and impartial view on what's going on out there, tune into Russia Today.News sources in this country are heavily imbalanced and carrying an agenda.Russia Today will tell you what's really happening minus an agenda.

It was a pathetic comment that Arabs (not Hamas or any other group) don't love their children as much as they hate the Jews. It is a comment intended to present all Arabs as lacking normal human emotions and responses, as willingly sacrificing their kids in the conflict, as being complicit and supporters of Hamas actions that have brought a brutal and criminal response from Israel. THAT IS WHAT IS RACIST - not your support for Israel, or other disagreements on a messageboard.

You can argue that Hamas use civilians as a 'human shield' (I believe that is partly true), you can pretend the conflict started 2 weeks ago with no cause or provocation, and you can promote the Israeli state view of how they have tried to avoid civilian casualties (despite over 400 dead who were in the wrong place, didn't get a warning or didn't run fast enough). But don't throw mock outrage around when you are challenged on what is clearly a racist depiction of the Palestinian people of Gaza.

You think they don't love their kids enough? Just watch the f**king TV pictures. If you believe the comment about the Arabs and their kids, then at least have the courage to accept the label that comes with it.

For your information I haven't said anything about Jewish people in any of the Gaza threads, I have commented on the actions of the Israeli government and the Israeli state. I believe that some of the bravest and most impressive voices in the whole region are Israeli Jews (you won't be surprised that they are not supporters of Likud!), I think the actions of the Israeli government to protect the status quo (through its own actions or through Egypt) are a crime, are politically motivated and will not secure peace and security for Israelis or for Jewish people in some other parts of the world where they have suffered a rise in anti-semitic attacks.

the central point is......there has never been a war or conflict where acceptable losses have not been discussed prior to any action...and as media coverage has evolved ,how much sympathy can be gained via the media coverage is built into this thinking.........
i am afraid that Hamas with their bombardment or attempted bombardment of Israel KNEW full well what the response would be.....knew full well of the likelihood of children/schools/hospitals being hit.....yet continue to fire the misiles...

You attacked me for calling a racist comment what it is - racist - then avoided dealing with the issue over god knows how many subsequent posts, apart from a load of cheap name calling of your own, and repeating all your other views on the conflict.

The comment was about 'Arabs' in general - not the military wing of Hamas. It was crude racist stereotyping in my view and done for a political reason. But I have already said that, and you have already said you agree with the comment. If you are not going to explain why you agree with the comment, and constantly side-step onto what you see (with some justification) as cynical use of civilians by Hamas, then there is nothing more to say. I am angry and disgusted but will end it here.
