Am in bits

Staffies are amazing dogs, one of the most loyal and friendly breeds there is.

One of the reasons I'm not interested in getting any pets of that nature.

I knew the day would come Karl but wasn't expecting it when it did. One minute bounding around then he was seriously ill. But would not of changed a thing in regards to having him the pleasure was all mine. I thank him for being a loyal friend and he was my boy as well.

It's comforting to know how many have felt the same as me or are dreading the day themselves. It always seemed a taboo subject you kept your feelings to yourself because you was worried others would laugh or say Man up.
This thread has told me it's OK to feel like this and it's OK to cry and it is ok to talk about it because by Christ it has helped with you lot, Friends on here and foes have put our differences to one side on something we all agree on. This is one of the saddest few days of my life and I can't begin to say how you lot have helped. Even my wife has been reading this thread.

I had to put my dog to sleep this year through old age and ill health . I understand how heart breaking it is and what you are going through.
I just think back to all the good times we had , also what a wonderful life she had too with owners who really cared and looked out for her. I am sure you and your family would have been the same with your dog.
If its any consolation, you did the right thing for your dog , and saved him the suffering and the pain.
He will be looking down on you now an thanking you for everything you did for him.
Celebrate the good times , he wouldn't want you feeling bad.
