Lifting a scarf because it looks nice and because everyone else is doing it, does not say much. I can assure you. If 1000 people started lifting an inflatable sheep on 19:27 then everyone would soon follow, its effortless and easy to do.

Actively protesting does however. 27,000 home fans were hundreds of meters away from the march for blue and only a few thousand bothered turning up and those that did were under strict instructions not to piss off tan

But you are welcome to keep your head in that sandbox of yours.

No true Cardiff fan would want to play in red end of.

what gets me lately on here is how Cardiff fans get taken in by winding up gypo fans, and gypo fans posing as Cardiff fans.

The gypos are obbsessed with us, always have been always will be. they always looked up to us but dont like to admit it, just like that dump of a town newport, always in our shadow and always will be.

Thats it, no conditions about investment, no worries the club will go under if you choose the wrong colour.... quite simply, Blue? or Red

so under these conditions we have 20percent who would rather play in red without thinking about the money
just a straight up choice?
no true cardiff fan would pick that plastics/jacks only

What are you bumping on about
My point is in relation to some useless poll, not about protesting. As it happens it's a great protest and let's VT know the real feelings of the fans, in front of his own eyes. Far more effective than some march that he wouldn't see.The more vitriolic the protest the more stubborn he will become. Yes we all know your opinion but it's just that, and it holds no more merit than others. In fact less so since you're not even a Cardiff fan. So give it a rest though eh, you really are boring and nobody needs the input from an armchair jack fan

81% on here now, almost in line with what I would have expected, out of the 25 red votes they wont all be jacks, I imagind there are a few cardiff fsns voting red but no ones come out to explain why as yet

A result I totally expected to see on here... I cannot fathom how someone holding a blue scarf, whilst singing always be blue, isn't a sign they want blue, yet just clicking red on here is?!

Bizarre.

When in a group people conform and act how they feel they should. Hence why the crowd were 90% red at one stage, now its cool to be blue. Singing songs is the same "englands full of shit" gets blurted out now and again, many of those singing married to english women - why sing? Coz its fun and everyone else does.

On here, although not perfect, is a simple choice based on somebodies personal opinion.

90% red. Do me a favour.
One game when two stands had a lot, and fair enough it was a lot, of people wearing the free scarfs which have not been seen again without scorn, does not make 90%.

This is a 'red' herring.

Take the example of The American War of Independence:

Even children, brothers, friends and workmates decided to fight on opposing sides.

Are you saying that fans are spineless enough to wear a colour because they feel they need to conform? With great security and superb Police presence?

NO!

Fans wear what they want to wear, according mainly to club allegiance (or in this case, an alternative BLUE strip).

good quote from vince alm here...

My opinion on the matter was to accept the change for the future stability of the club, even though I am vehemently against it, and lobby in a peaceful and civil manner over the coming years to have it changed back.

It is a vile read. Really is.

But the fact is at the time of writing you were blue and had a future of blue as stated by Tan - those grovelling letters were penned in order for him to change you to red so you could get the cash... And it worked.

Not forgetting of course my own personal favourite..
The fan who showed the love by offering to pick Tan and his entourage up from the airport in his car. It was fantastic stuff. It really was. :laughing5:

percentage wise, this poll mirrors the one Wales Online did before the link was posted on planet swans

its my believe that if season ticket holders were balloted, we would see approx 94% pick blue (roughly 17,000 out of 18,000) but of course its never going to happen so pure speculation.

I would love to think there is something the fans could do to facilitate the change, Votes, official or otherwise, 2,500 signatures on a petition, marches and protests..... all well and good but i think its clear we are beyond that now.

I dont buy that. At one point your poll was 70% red too.

It seems like any swings to red then it must be jacks or an anomaly where as any swings blue and that is the real feeling. Its a one way poll really, if blue wins then that correct and if red wins then its manipulated.

If season ticket people were balloted from this Premier League season and the decision of red or blue comes with all the trappings a decision in real life would do (red = no more loans for spending) then the red would be chosen by an awfully high number of people.

This is clear if you look at threads at the time. Its nothing to do with existence as a club, most of the replies were "oh yeah and League 2 would be fun wouldnt it, what planet are you on" etc etc etc

Id imagine the majority would want blue back, probably the 95% you are talking about. However in terms of choosing blue over the money Tan provides.... Nowhere near 95% as was shown by the march.

but for most, its not the money in terms of "lets be a sucsessful premier league team spending 50 million on players" people were worried (and should be even more worried now) that Tan pulling the plug would mean the club would go under, not only that, but there were murmerings that that is exactly what was going to happen.

So i dont buy all this that the fans stood by and let this happen, as you yourself have pointed out, there was an outpouring of hatred when the decision was first announced, so much so that it wasnt going to happen untill so of the "important" fans spoke for the majority

now our club is in deep shit whatever happens to the colour of the shirt, it means the fans have nothing that can hold them to ransom anymore, Tan goes, Tan stays, either way we are in shit. I see no way out of it now execpt a partial debt to equity (which in fairness, is more in line with what our debt was when he first mentioned it) asset stripping, getting a positive net transfer spend close to 20 million, and a further 10 million off the wage bill.

Its only a start, but may well knock 100 million off the debt.

Im rattling on now, but basically trying to point out, that without the threat of the club going under, this would never have happened.

Re: ' Blue or Red Poll '

Fri May 16, 2014 8:22 am

There was never a threat of the club going under just as Alan Whitely confirmed. I was also quite vocal at the time explaining how this wasnt the case.

I even outlined a detailed explanation how with the debt levels at the time maybe even administration didnt need to happen in order to move on as a self sufficient club.... But it would be a long road and many seasons of competing at e wrong end of ghe leagues you occupied but as someone said at the time... "Where is the fun in that"

There wasnt many mentioning "club ceasing to exist" at the time. It was all to do with, ive been watching 50 years and paid my dues and i deserve some success etc etc it was truly sickening to read, thats from a jack.

This feeling continues to this day. Nobody wants to rock the tan/red boat because of the trappings that come with Tans reign. its truly truly shocking, especially when you have the likes of wez and soulofthesea suggesting that we are somehow jealous of Tan

Trust me, there are reds spewing out of your club and its as plain as day. Take the cash away and its pretty much all blue - no argument there. However with red DOES come loans, and its a money hungry faux success driven fanbase - has been for over a decade. Its insatiable... And that is why you are getting people picking red.

I appreciate you love the sound of your own voice, which unfortunately for those of us here, seems to be the driving force behind most of your posts. However, I can't see how you can comment on what the people/supporters on the ground are feeling with regard to red or blue in and around the city, from 10,000 miles away (alledgedly  ).
I do understand that spending up to 16 hours a day on a Cardiff City forum and maybe Wales online, with a shot of the BBC thrown in for good measure, may fool you into thinking that you have your finger on the pulse of the city

I think you'd actually have to be here to understsnd fully the feeling of the place...................hmmmm.
