Hmmm

Tan will tell you steve borley is the fan on the board and you can't really argue with that

The only fan representative on the board should be an elected member of the supporters trust.

I want blue back, but I want Tan to remain as our majority shareholder/owner, I am willing to compromise with Tan, if he is willing to put a fan on the board and have regular contact between the senior board members and the supports trust, I would be happy to support Tan's leadership into next season and the long term future.

Its clear that the rebrand has been a terrible failure, Tan knows that, we know that, today he has given his first indication that he is willing to take a backwards step from the 'all red' kit and make some compromises to give the fans blue on the home kit, which we all want, but he isn't going to give that for nothing in return, he wants us to give a little too, allow him the owner and majority shareholder, to also be represented on the kit. We as fans can not just take take take

I guarantee if Tan just rolled over tomorrow and give the Blue back, the next day fans would want the old badge back, then they would want a full debt to equity conversion, then they would want a massive transfer budget, then they would want immediate promotion, then they would want even bigger transfer funds for the Prem (all funded by Tan though, heaven forbid the club should pay) then they would want a big challenge in the prem, then reduced ticket prices and then they would want Tan out anyway because he should have never fucked with the fans in the first place. Dare I say it sometimes I feel the club is dealing with a section of the fan base acting like a spoiled child.

I have stood in the Ninian Stand all season with a blue and white scarf, I've always sung 'always be blue' but I will never join in all the 'Tan is a wanker' and 'Tan Out' chants, he doesn't deserve such ridicule, he has helped move our club forward in many many ways, this will always be a regrettable season due to 'off field' crap and I honestly cant see how Tan can win over the fan base as whatever he does, they will never accept him.

But look at the good things he has done for us, I am not going to list them all, we all know the position the club was in when he turned up, we went from that to buying Caulker, Medel and Cornelius, big transfer fees that the die hard fans that attended that legendary 'rainy Tuesday night fixture in Rochdale' could only dream about. They didnt all work out but is that Tan's fault? of course not!

Whether you like it or not, Tan has moved the club along, further than anyone else in the clubs history, and while we all want blue back, you've got to accept that you cant have it all our own way under this owner, he wants compromise, and im sure we will get it, clearly we arent going to start wearing red as a compromise, but perhaps not mocking him and heckling him when he is in attendance at the CCS would be a start.

Tan is a blackmailing spoilt rich kid who only wanted red for hiiself and lied saying it would bring the club more money lies. So just cos tan wanted red we all av to roll over no thanks

Gavin don't waste your breath on Victor, compromise is the way forward.
The compromise kit with blue and red should be put to the fans, let them decide.

I just think fans keeping on moaning about something which isn't going to happen is pointless and missing out on a chance to get blue back on the home kit,I'd rather that than be to naive to see this is a compromise which is a start and would be preferred to a full red kit with black shorts that is going to be our kit next season if ppl keep saying blue or nothing,he'll just say fine fuk u nothing it is,he don't give to fuks about us and moaning about blue now isn't going to get the blue back just derail next season like it has this.don't get me wrong I don't like the red on the kit but a red and blue kit is better than a red kit or is that not true???

No I don't think so.
If we compromise with the kit and possibly even a new badge, we will never get our proper colours and badge back.
I would rather wait for our proper identity to be restored than have to put up with a half arsed new one.

Tan has today shown himself to be backing out of his promise to change debt to equity - wasn't that the reason the majority "reluctantly accepted" the rebrand in the first place? Pure and simple, he lied.

Tan has progressed this club and moved it along? How exactly? Next season, we will be playing in exactly the same league as when he joined, yet we will be saddled with FAR more debt & playing in a totally alien colour with a feuding fan base that are split on the club's identity.

I can't see how that's progression.

:bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

200% agree with you - he is starting to blackmail us and taking the piss in my opinion.

If he is prepared to back down on the blue and badge when we return to the premiership, WHY NOT NOW? - does he not realise (i think not) he will have fans and media on his side.

He must think we are really foolish and we will just roll over. FROM ME - NO CHANCE ANYMORE.

Re: I'm happy to compromise with Vincent Tan

Compromise?? Don't make me laugh.

Two years ago, I briefly felt that a compromise kit may be a solution but that opinion changed a long time ago.

Cardiff are in a significantly worse place financially than they were prior to the rebrand. Two years ago many believed that they were getting a debt free club in exchange for an unpalatable identity change. That has proved to be utter nonsense. At the very best there will be a partial debt to equity conversion but without any guarantees that will actually happen. Tan is financially involved in the club up to his ridiculously high waistband. He cannot simply 'walk away.'

Many fans have also found their voices and are prepared to protest inside and outside the stadium on a regular basis. These protests are clearly hitting their mark and it's clear that the supporters now hold the whip hand. Tan realises this too, hence his first utterances about compromise. The fans have 'got him on the run.' Nqat.

The supporters have far more power than they realise. Next season will be the time to really ramp up the pressure and the intensity of the protests. It is definitely not time to cave in and consider compromises.

Talk to him, by all means but compromise? No chance. The fans are in a very strong position.

Alf it's quite simple, if there is to be a compromise kit, put it to the fans, let them have a vote.If the fans vote in favour then we can move on,if they don't then the drama continues but the fans must have their say this time.
