I dont remember ever saying that.

So you agree this seasons league form has been affected adversely by Europe then

Sweet, thanks for the back up

Yes I do agree and told you so at the beginning of the season. You wouldnt have it though. :laughing6:

Thanks for confirming I was right and you were wrong.

I dont ever remember saying that.

I do vaguely remember some saying that because we were 6 points behind them at Christmas, we would be 12 points behind them at the end of the season and what a gap it would be.

Funny how things turn out though.

They will stay up.. By the skin of their teeth. Norwich to go down.

Re: The jacks are quiet tonight....

Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:03 am

i think Norwich and Sunderland will go down for sure, with either us or fulham likely to be the other team.

Would be good to see Swansea lose to Newcastle on Saturday, and edge ever closer to the bottom three, but i think they will win 1 of their last 4 at least and stay up.

Re: The jacks are quiet tonight....

Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:18 am

1) Sunderland are gone and need to win most of their remaining games.

2) Norwich have man united, liverpool, tottenham and arsenal and need to gain 2 points on us.

3) Cardiff need to gain 5 points on us in the last 4 games. 1 of cardiffs games is against Chelsea.

None of the above will happen.

We are down NQAT

We probably are down but should we beat stoke and the jacks manage to lose at Newcastle then it will get very interesting indeed. I can see us turning over Sunderland too who could be gone by then almost, squeak squeak.....

and i would have agreed with you at 3pm on Saturday. Its almost a shame in a way because i had accepted relegation after the Palace match, and now i have a glimmer of hope again.

Its not going to be easy, but we are still in with a chance.

Ive accepted we are down. We are just delaying the inevitable. With our shit goal difference we probably need another 7 points from the last 4 games. Wont happen.

Re: The jacks are quiet tonight....

Mon Apr 14, 2014 12:16 pm

7 points is probably right, and while i also agree it might not happen its certainly possible.

Again with the goal difference, Norwich have a history of being battered by Liverpool and Fulhams is worse than ours, even a 1 goal win v stoke might see the gap between us and Norwich come down to something like 2 or 3.

As you can see, trying my best to be optimistic, but have left the stadium feeling deflated and angry several times in the last month, hope Saturday doesnt feel like that as well.

Aston Villas fixtures are quite interesting.

If we somehow manage to beat Stoke and both Villa and Swansea fail to win this weekend then I think I will be edging towards preffering Jacks to beat Villa given Villas remaining games. A tougher run-in than the Jacks for sure.

Benteke out injured and they are on a poor run, certainly not over for them, and like you, im looking at that game v the jacks and thinking that one of those teams are going to be in trouble at the end of it.

All academic really though unless we beat stoke.

Yes, and given our recent home performances then I am not going into it with any confidence to be honest. Stoke are in form and I think Odemwingie will have a point to prove to the club and us fans.

Re: The jacks are quiet tonight....

kenwyn jones should feel the same

noticed its likely that defeat against us will send Sunderland down (given that they shouldnt take anything from Man City and Chelsea) for that reason alone i cant see us beating them, Though i suppose a draw would be ok in that one providing we won against stoke.

Mr pedantic:I never said I disagreed with you,on the matter in question, but disagreed with the ones who said "we have two quality players in every posistion" and could"field two teams that would compete in the prem" funny how you distance yourself from your"fellow fans?"anyway, back to the question you asked about teams with 25 good players, who would be able to compete in both league and europe.I gave an answer that you conveniently ignored.was it because I gave you names of at least four.add chelsea to that number,as they are still in the top european competition.last four too!not last 32 of the second tier competition!! I await your pedantic response,as that's five clubs I have given you,who are very competitive on both league, and top tier european cup! Also was in france last week, nobody there knew who had won the league cup,nor were they interested in who had! Now thats not everyone is it?? Second tier competition as pointed out by the majority of football fans(except swansea of course!)both home and abroad.voila!

that isnt pedantry. You are in a debate with me and bringing up what other people said, its bizarre. There was a bloke in the late 90's who was a rapist and enjoyed hurting animals, he was an Oasis fan - do we now discuss this with other Oasis fans with the assumption that they all think the same? No.

I distance myself from everybodies views - simply because they are not mine.

As for the be competitive with two teams - we have been. We are still above the drop zone and have continually chopped ane changed due to fatigue between maybe 17-18 players all having unusually high game time.

anyway, back to the question you asked about teams with 25 good players, who would be able to compete in both league and europe.I gave an answer that you conveniently ignored.

that wasnt the question i asked though was it. I asked what club has 25 players of equal ability. The more you use your lesser players the more it will affect results - hence ehy usually the more games you play the more your form suffers. Basic premise.

was it because I gave you names of at least four.add chelsea to that number,as they are still in the top european competition.last four too!not last 32 of the second tier competition!! I await your pedantic response,as that's five clubs I have given you,who are very competitive on both league, and top tier european cup!

well considering i didnt ask im not sure why you are answering :D however the fact you name teams who have spent hundreds of millions of pounds says it all :D

Also was in france last week, nobody there knew who had won the league cup,nor were they interested in who had! Now thats not everyone is it?? Second tier competition as pointed out by the majority of football fans(except swansea of course!)both home and abroad.voila!

nobody in france knew who won the league cup? :D thats brilliant fair play.

Yes please do!! Not pedantic a little? Fans idea of it please, not some newspaper reporters take! You know full well, that most fans, and managers to a degree, take it as the second tier cup? Just because yo won it does not make it a major trophy, was the johnstones paint trophy major as well,as the one report you produced says 92 teams enter, compared to over 700 for the fa cup! You fool nobody by averting the truth! Major,my arse!!

Never want us to lose a game but felt the same when we won. I had accepted the drop for certain but the boys give us faint hope. In a strange way part of me was pissed off. Still think we've left ourselves too much to do and can only see us picking points up away from home. At least we showed some fight, finally

If there is a european place attached to it - it is a major trophy. And it is considered a major trophy the world over.

Last time i checked the JPT trophy didnt have a european qualification prize

I wouldnt even know where to look regarding a foreign newspaper, even if we were talking about the champs league. What does foreign newpaper got to with it anyway? You know as well as I do it is a major trophy, anything is a major trophy when it provides a route into europe.

I havent said i think he will be here next season have I? :?
