Do not applaud Ryan Giggs, why?

So the fact he didn't play in quite a few friendlies for Wales detracts from what the guy has achieved overall in his career, I think not.
Could someone please tell me why Giggs missing friendly games had any bearing on the Welsh team as a whole??? when it counted the guy was there giving his all for his country and let's be totally honest he was surrounded for the most part by some poor quality players!
His personal life is another story and one that doesn't really interest me, all I know is that the guy has been a credit to the game for over 20 years and is recognised worldwide for what he has achieved in the game.

As a country we don't tend to produce many welsh footballing legends due to the lack of success of the national team, the guy could have had over 100 caps for his country and still not been recognised as a welsh legend.
Any player and the same applies to Bale, who plays for a lesser nation will make their reputation at club level, as Giggs did in abundance!!

I worked with his grandfather for some time, one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet. Danny would often talk about his grandson and how good he was, playing for Manchester schools at that time. But would I applaud Giggs on Sunday, definitely not.
