I disagree with you on this one.

Thats fine.

So you think the £30m has been spent poorly? (My original question before the circus)

No. Caulker was quite expensive but is a good signing, Medel, again quite expensive but is a good signing. Odemwingie will be a good signing. KTC another good signing. Cornelius and Brayford im undecided at the moment. So its about a third of the transfer budget that may have been better spent elsewhere.

Cornelius has been injured, there's nothing to be decided on.

nobody has dodged your question at all. We have spent nearly 30 million but most of that we would get a return on.

There is no doubt in my mind that if we were to sell our whole squad in a years time we would get more than what we paid.

Would I have liked to have added 1 or 2 more creative players? Yes of course I would.

Do I think we have added enough quality to stay up? Yes I do.

Do I think we'll have more money to spend in january if needed? Yes

All the questions you raised in this thread were answered before you even turned up if you bothered to read it, therefore I will say read the thread again and a lot of your questions have been addressed.

My question wasnt aimed at you. If you think you will stay up then its money well spent, no need for an explanation.

I asked polo as he said he expects you to go down, which is quite a statement after spending £30m.

For the amount of money we have spent the squad is still far too unbalanced, lacking pace and genuine attacking quality.

I just dont see 3 worst teams than us. I really dont.

You are very negative we have done really well from a very tough start .......

Bottom of the chances created table.

Lowest possession score which proves we cant retain it either.

Highest number of blocked shots proving we invite pressure on ourselves.

Lowest shot accuracy in the league so far which proves our lack of a clinical finish when we do create the odd chance.

and people aren't worried. :?

All the stats prove we need to be more attacking. Why is Malky afraid to add more attacking players to the team?

You do realise we've played 3 of the best sides in the country in our last 4 games don't you? Two of those sides have realistic chances of European silverware this season. If you're disappointed that a newly promoted side gave up the possession stats and attempts on goal to Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham then you seriously need to take some time from this forum. The only stats that count are the points on the board and we've settled into premier league life adequately

Malky is afraid to add attacking players? That's a bizarre statement. Peter Odemwingie is gaining match fitness now and in just over a week already looks dangerous and will cause problems. Not forgetting the £8m we spent on Andreas Cornelius. He'll get his chance soon enough. I agree with what you said about Craig Noone earlier and I've no doubt he'll be utilised soon. That's the beauty of a 22 man squad, we've got plenty of time to try different things. Personally, and I might be a little old fashioned but a newly promoted side traditionally gets 10 games under their belt to acclimatise. Forgive me if I'm sat here shaking my head at some of the ill-advised rubbish that's written on here

Tony, I disagree unfortunately mate but you are of course entitled to your opinion as we all are. I see it as a worry as we are letting shots fly at us for fun and inviting pressure on us, a lot more so than any other team. Its not only us out of the promoted teams that have had tough games as every game in this league is tough and we can't just write off a loss vs Spurs and say we'll make it up against the likes of Palace because Palace isn't a given, no game in this division is a given.

2 points from the last 9 is how I see it and I will admit we have played the likes of Everton and Spurs in that time and you could argue Hull was always going to be tough with them eager to prove their worth early on but that is not a good return at all. 4 points is a decent return from that and we should be aiming for a win, a draw and a loss from every three games minimum to stay on track.

We are in desperate need of an attacking outlet and I for one hope you are right in that Odemwingie and Cornelius, when fit, provide that extra quality needed but the fact that Malky has left Noone out when he has flair and unpredictability and can go past players, as proven vs WHU, leaves me bewildered as to what he truly wants from games.

When West Bromwich Albion deployed a similar system they used Long, who has great pace as an outlet to chase down and the midfield pushed up and did the same. They however regained possession better than we are currently doing and they also counter attacked superbly. Malky is being too cautious for my liking and the team is sitting too deep and when you invite pressure on yourself like that then unfortunately, teams like Spurs and United who play until the death, will break you down and punish you.

Malky needs to sort it out.

Marshall

Taylor
Turner
Caulker
Theophile

Medel
Mutch

Noone
Kim
Odemwingie

Campbell

is what i'd go with as that can be perfect on the counter attack and with Noone and Odemwingie pushing up it becomes a 4-3-3 formation with Kim sitting in just behind to create. If that doesn't work and we cant break them down then bring on Whittingham, Cowie and Gestede (Cornelius when fit) and start putting balls into the box and change the game plan using a plan B. It makes us less predictable on the whole if we have 2 plans to use and it means we can change it mid game and try and get a result if our plan A isn't working.

Re: Why are fans 'expecting' 3 points saturday?!

There is no need to change anything yet, as there will be plenty of space and opportunity against Fulham after an hour. As I stated earlier in this post, they played most of there first team last night while we rested ours on Tuesday. Also, they have the oldest squad in the Premier with 11 players over 30 and an average age of 29. Add those facts to poor recent form for them, while we have taken 4 points of the top clubs and almost another point off Spurs and I can only see a win for City.

You can make a good solid case for every team in this league, except probably Palace, so should that mean we just go into every game expecting to lose and be delighted with a point cos I tell you what 20 odd draws wont keep us up??

If we had done a Reading and got promoted and spent f*ck all fair enough, expect to go back down but weve spent close to 35 million quid on the squad FFS.

Can't see anywhere in my post where I bigged up Fulham like you said and I also said that we should be targetting their likes, where we could pick up points!

I just think that some people think the 3 points are in the bag for us already!

And as Gringo said I have already answered why in this thread. Because we have an unbalanced squad and didnt add enough quality in both the creative and wide areas IMO.

Oh shut up. if you cannot give Hull the credit they deserve for going away to Newcastle, taking the game to them, coming from behind twice and scoring 3 goals then you are a numpty.

Easier fixtures my arse, theyve played City and Chelsea away and given excellent accounts of themselves. Add that to taking 7 out of 9 points in their other games they are aquitting themselves very well.

Polo, according to the stats sites you were bang on the money with your prediction they have adapted the best. We are second and Palace third which makes sense given the table. Our fans are deluded. Its better to just let them be and they will soon enough wake up.

Ironically I had best view there, on the side of the pitch near the touch line with Beefy in his wheelchair/ The trouble started with some of our good old Aberdare lads, ended up with Marksy getting jailed for it.

We were playing at Barnett a few weeks later when he got pulled by the met police who had a dossier of photos with suspects from that game and they were picking them out at Barnett, luckily for N---O he missed that game because he was the one that kicked it off by throwing the cup of tea in that Chelsea fans face who was giving them lip in the enclosure where all the trouble started, fair play to Neil Kinnock for how he dealt with the press after as well.

Can't remember the score at the Barnett game, but I do remember about thirty of us walking out of a pub in Barnett and bumping into Jeremy Beadle, and you can imagine how much stick he took.

I do believe we can beat them but the problem is with this forum is that some of the people on it are so predictable.

If everyone was doom and gloom about playing fulham I'd probably be posting the opposite to what I have posted above but you and I both know what will happen:

The team sheet will be on here at about 2:45 and mr moo cow and a few others will be saying stuff like ffs malky how is cowie playing etc.

3:25 blubird1977 will come on hoofball again and a bunch of other drivvle followed by a few ayatollahs.

3:45 1-0 at half time the whole board goes into meltdown. We are now the worst team on the planet

4:00 more drivvle from bluebird1977
Including the stats of how many shots on goal we've had compared to them 'ayatollah'

4:20 we equalise and everybody calms down a bit.

4:40 we score the winner and everyone is wanking apart from some former fans who now log out.

5:00 we're the best team ever and malky should be knighted. Bring bayern munich and barca

Same time same thing next week
