We are moving along well and with our own youth academy near the ground and 100 acres of land in fairwood being developed in to one of the top training and sports science in europe under way with the club and swansea uni I think we are getting every thing in place for our future.
The plans for the stadium have been drawn up and are being submitted by xmas ready for work to start for the start of next season.
Things look a lot more secure for us then they do for u thats for sure.

So the poster that claimed that you will have an expansion for next season was wrong then, agreed?

You had a stadium up and running (don't forget, it's not yours) & we also have a waiting list for STs.

Top venues in Europe?! :laughing5:

What a car crash of a thread

Swansea not praised for their atmosphere, cardiffs is amazing even though they have only had a goos atmosphere in 2 matches (the second a decline from the first at that), swansea will never expand, cardiff will get 15,000 more fans next year and swansea will be relegated with 14,000 crowds.

And this ladies and gemtlemen is why i love this forum

Between 5 and 8 k? bit of a big difference there  and you think you'l fill a 30 k stadium? dream on junkie. Cardiff have sold 22k season tickets with 7 thousand on the waiting list, just goes to show what we all know that cardiff have a bigger fan base

The first two are fact. The second one is my opinion and i dont know what a best venue is.

Re: That atmosphere tonight

They aren't fact at all. There are no concrete plans to expand the Liberty at all yet, so how on earth can that be a fact?

Second one seems to be a fact in your head only.

3rd one is a ridiculous opinion - even if we were relegated, to suggest crowds would drop to that level is blinkered.

There are concrete plans. The second one is a fact regardless of whether you want to accept it or not. 3rd one os not ridiculous in the slightest as its what you gotmfor the majority of your games last year if you dont count the thousands of £10 season ticket no shows (ask annis).

Re: That atmosphere tonight

Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:09 am

Swansea do have concrete plans to extend Chuckles. At least admit a truth. At the end of the day they are in their third season and the hysteria has died down a lot. The same will happen with us as well and a lot of our fans will go back to supporting United and Chelsea once the boredom of finishing 14th kicks in. Our attendances will go up in accordance to the stadium increases but then gradually decline as the wow factor disappears and we become yet another established Premier League team.

Re: That atmosphere tonight

Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:10 am

Link to these concrete plans please and the completion date? I'm amazed that they haven't been reported, seeing as ours have.

The second one isn't fact at all. It's just your opinion & as for the third one, you need to check the attendance figures again.

It's like suggesting that if Swansea went down, you'd drop below your championship attendance levels & get 10 or 11k.

I'd like to see plans for this supposed expansion as it seems that Swansea fans like waddle and Paul don't even know about them.

Surely concrete plans would be easily accessible as they would have been confirmed by the club & press would have interest too...

They applied for planning permission on all 4 stands. They later revealed they were no longer looking at extending the West stand but will continue with the other 3 as scheduled within the 3-5 years estimated. It will take them up near to around 30,000 seats I believe so will still be smaller than our stadium after our current phase of expansion is complete.

However they are expanding and will fill it for as long as they are in the Premier League as South Wales has loads of Premier League fans of loads of clubs who will happily buy tickets to see their teams.

Everything at your club gets published. Its a basket case. We are working with the council to get everything in place by xmas to start work in the summer for next season - chairmans words.

The second one is most certainly a fact.

And for the third one the attendance figures dont show the no shows. Your family stand according to annis and others have thousands missing which are counted... Which of course wont be the season you get relegated, nor will the ST price freeze. I think Annis said for one of your games against Birmingham the real attendance was 17,800 where as the official attendance had it close to 21k or something to that effect.

attendanxe figures covers the number of tickets bought. The price freeze remains next season & why are you assuming that people won't buy STs if we are not in the premiership? We had those numbers before without ever being in the premiership, so to assume that it will drop below those levels is daft.

Swansea City are looking to expand the size of the Liberty Stadium to cater for the huge demand for Premier League football.

The club have submitted plans to increase the capacity, which from next season will be 22,500, to around 33,000.

backed by Swansea council, work will be carried out over three phases.

The club have included how they will handle the extra traffic that an increased capacity will bring.

In a statement, the club said: "The works proposed would see the extension of the North, South and East stands of the stadium in a phased manner over the next three to five years.

"The proposals seek to capitalise on the success of the football club during their first two seasons in the Barclays Premier League, help consolidate this status and remain part of the top flight for many years to come.

"Works that are proposed for the stadium would look to increase its capacity by approximately 11,000 spectators."

Phase one could begin at the end of next season and would see the East Stand capacity increased by 3,844 which does not include completing the corner sections. The other two phases would follow.

The Liberty Stadium is currently the second smallest ground in the Premier League at 20,500, behind Queens Park Rangers' 18,500 Loftus Road home.

The Swans are selling out every match at the Liberty, which is also the home of the Ospreys regional rugby team and opened in 2005.

Under separate plans, the club intends to increase the stadium's capacity to 22,500 in time for the start of next season by making changes in the West Stand that will also see new media and hospitality facilities.

Work is also underway on new training facility near the ground in Landore which as well as a main training base and academy in Fairwood.

Swansea have enjoyed a successful first two seasons in the Premier League and in February won their first major trophy, the Capital One Cup, earning them a place in next season's Europa Leagu

Wholly incorrect. It's owned by the club. The club is liable for it & gets all the profits from it. It also has to pay for the upkeep of it, which it wouldn't do if it didn't own the ground.

I guess you aren't an expert on property ownership Paul? :laughing6:

im aware of that, however claiming 21,000 with 17,800 at the stadium after flogging the rest of the seats of 45p per game and them not showing up is a little disingenuous. Your actual attendance in my opinion will be about 18,000 - 20,000. Which is similar to the actual attendance you had on the way up so keeping it the same on the way down i think im being generous.

No confirmation there..

Also that article states that your ground is 22.5k this season (article was written last year as it states QPR as a premiership side) so either that's rubbish too, or you aren't selling out your stadium?
